weird symbol when key in password

Hi all,

Recently I found that whenever I enter password, e.g GMAIL account, a weird symbol (a curve on top of a dot, it just looks like an eye) behind the password. When click at the symbol, the password is displayed. Anyone knows if this is normal?

thanks hlots123 for the info link. A relief for me to know the 'eye' is not from any malicious s/w.
