What is wrong with digging up an old thread?

Why is it wrong to dig up an old thread?

Take the thread below for example,

It is over 10 years old

Obviously there have been many members who digged it up and revived it over the years

Is that okay, or nothing wrong?

even if u may say my post was rude; apart from that, I want to ask, what is wrong with digging up an old thread?

I don't see anything wrong bumping to discuss in such general discussion thread. ie aircon, Netflix.

But I know there are some IBs who keep bumping old political news.

TS edited the thread by him/herself because too many people were bashing him, there were no replies, you digged his old thread out 5 months later to spite him/her.

The Amulet thread has information, while the SnowFoxes thread is just about bashing.

And if you want to enquire something please state the infraction date in initial post because we actually have no idea which infraction you referring to.

so is it ok to "dig"/update/revive old informational threads or discussion threads?

what if it's an edmw thread over 6 months old, and someone "digs" it up by posting a comment there, is there anything wrong with it?

will points be awarded for "thread digging"?

There is nothing wrong with posting in an old discussion thread, as long as the content of the post is relevant and constructive. The issue here is not with the age of the thread, but with the content of the post used to "dig" the thread.

Closing thread as Moderator has already answered and we believe it is rather straightforward on what is regarded as thread digging.
