I stay away from Aviva because they say they will void insurance if car is modded in anyway (heard that even aftermarket air intake will void as well).

Now on AIG.

Stay away from these 2 if ur car is modded.

Directasia now have options to declare your LTA approved mod (and pay additional) and it would be recorded on your policy. So modding should not be a problem with directasia if LTA approve. Not sure about their claim process though.

Been with DA for 2 years, no issues with them even thou my car is modded. They will only replace with stock items if you get involved in accident *touchwood*. Low premium compared to other big insurance companies. Satisfied driver.

Can share more regarding your claim?

I only see good reviews about them but people are also saying that directasia is cheapest in town etc etc..

My policy was void by them when processing my claim. Our vehicle was a family car and everyone was sharing the usage. They noticed that the person who reported the accident was not the policy holder and they cancelled the policy and refused to honour the claim. That was even though it is clearly written that anyone can drive the vehicle with the permission of the policy holder.

We had to pay for our repairs. As we banged another car, we received a letter from the other person's insurance company asking us to foot the bill for the repairs. We went the Fidrec to file a claim and after a long time, Fidrec finally ruled the case in our favour and get DA to process our claim.

The whole process was very troublesome and we can tell that DA was trying to get out of the policy once we made a claim in the beginning. Our car was in the workshop for 2 weeks before DA informed us the policy was void and the washed their hands off the matter. Even after Fidrec ruled in our favour, we still suffered monetary losses. When DA voided the policy, they refunded the pro rated policy premium paid with deduction of a service fee. The insurance policy still had 3 months left and we had to find another company to insure the car. When Fidrec asked DA to honour the claim, DA made us pay the premium for 1 whole year again before they would process the claim. We questioned why is it so as they only covered us for 9 months and they said it is company policy. Hence we made a loss of 3 months premium and service fee and not to mention the time wasted.

Will not recommend anyone for DA. I rather pay more for companies such as AXA where I know the claim process is much better.

This is worrying. Policy is under my name, and I added my brother's name, extra $200. If such a scenario arises and they refuse to honour, it's gonna be troublesome man.

Nope. She was above 25 and had more than 5 years of experience. When we lodged a case in Fidrec, the officer said DA receives a lot of cases against them. We are not the only ones affected by them.

DA have to add named driver, when the driver is not the owner. They are quite strict on this but this also add premium so it kinda cancel off any discount.
