Hi guys I'm facing a dilemma here at the moment. Will need advice. anyway here's my current setup:

CPU+MB: Msi z68a gd-55 g3 + i5-2500k
RAM: corsair vengeance 4gb x2(i think)
PSU:FSP Aurum CM Series Gold 650W PSU
HDD: Samsung evo 840 250gb
GPU: sapphire hd 6870 - just bought zotac gtx 760 to replace this

so, it seems like z68 MB are unable to run new GPUs without flashing the board. when attempting to flash the board, it told me that the bios is corrupted @.@ so it's unable to flash.

am still able to boot up to Windows fine. problem is, my sapphire 6870 broke down on me.....

Since I'm sick of that MB(there seems to be a problem powering up the board sometimes) I'm contemplating between purchasing a z77 MB(they still exists!) vs buying a new haswell i5 + mb.

not really into oc-ing at the moment as I'm really busy with my job...only have some time during the weekends for a few hours of gaming. as such, if I do purchase a new combo, it does not need to be able to oc.

so which do you guys think I should do, purchase a z77 mb(more budget option) or get a new mb + cpu(more future-proof)

I'm using my phone atm so do excuse the formatting.

try upgrading your RAM to min 8Gb
and go for the $100 motherboard ASUS B75M-A
this mobo can support your gtx760 smoothly

Hi all thanks for the replies.

my ram is at 8gb...

so I'm guessing to go for a sandy bridge MB? seems like that's what 2 people advised...

edit: in the end I bought an asrock z77 extreme 4 at 188 to replace it. last piece as well.

thanks everyone
