Budget: $1000 +-100
Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply.
Battery life for sure since the chances of finding a charging outlet can be a gamble, good price
erformance(specs and things) ratio would good too.
How important is weight and thinness to you?
Weight...2kg and under would be pretty solid for me, don't really wish to be carrying something too bulky/heavy
Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux.
Will be having Windows for sure, but I do have intentions to install Linux in - so feel free to give recommendations for that too
Do you have a preferred screen size?
13-14 inch screens would be enough honestly. Am up for smaller ones, though it may depend.
Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
Games such as Dota on maybe low-mid settings and L4D2 with some mods in come to mind, not really what I tend to play but it's kinda something that would need some power in general.
Some photoshop and maybe a VM too.
If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?
As said above, but something that's an all rounder. Graphics aren't a concern for me, getting that good 60 FPS does.
Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?
Only an SD Card Reader comes to mind for additional things. Good keyboard/trackpad would help for general use.
Having decent warranty and wireless(WiFi) capabilities too.
Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
Currently I am looking at the Lenovo Thinkpad E475, seems to fit my budget and my needs decently. The others have an odd case of "hit or miss" for me...
Heard that Lenovo has spyware in their systems, is that true? Kinda curious and cautious at the same time.
Sort of copy-pasted this from a post I made on Reddit where I asked the same thing. Hopefully I can get some local opinions on this.
