Hey guys, just replaced the dead ASRock Z87 Extreme 6 with an MSI Z87 G45 Gaming, after installing my i7 4770K, decided to run HWINFO64 to monitor the CPU temp (never did this with my ASRock though) and four of the temp readings ha me scratching my head. Is HWINFO64 reading it wrong? This is with aircon on (25C) in my living room, without AC, there was about 4C higher for first set of 4, but the 2nd set of 4 (highlighted ones) showed lower temps.....about 60C-65C. Really confused dah!:s22:

Edit - These are idle temps, surfing the net and posting in various forums.....nothing heavy at all.

Yes, the circled or highlighted ones are 'distance to TJMAX' or something like that.....so how?
is not actual temp, but distance to max temp... so like 100-core temp or 100-31 or 32, so u get 68-69

Sometimes, I can a real noob about harware, I just check for meaning of 'distance from TJMAX, and came up with:
'tj max is the maximum temperature the CPU is rated for'

So, I guess the greater the 'distance' the better, I think my CPU is rated at up to 90C max.

Thanks to hlots123 for enlightening me....live and learn!!! :)

That explains why the 2nd set of temps (highlighted ones) dropped when I didn't have the aircon on....
