What's your Laptop Model?

Hi guys, just curious to know what model are you guys currently using and why did you purchase it? Apparently a lot of 'insights' say that notebooks are dying and tablets are taking over. I think not. People can't possibly 'work' productively on a tablet right (e.g. replying emails, copying and pasting quickly, designing, creating powerpoints)?

Hope to keep this thread moving fellow bros.

I've used Acer, Toshiba, HP & Compaq before~ then when it come to a new notebook, initially was going for a Toshiba, as Acer,HP & Compaq failed me. But then i see the advertisement of JayChou as ambassador for Asus, then i started to shake shake and wanna try something. Buy Jay model doesn't come with i7, so in the end i took the NS45SF.

Spec i7-2630, GT635M, 4GB Ram. I think that Enough for me. No complaint for performance ~

But when it come to feedback *This model Sucks*
-The sound come out from the speaker will vibrate the keyboard making the sound of bzz bzz bzz(keyboard layout design such the key too close to each other, it will hit the next key)
-Wireless issue, Still get only 4 bar after 2 replacement still same(1st week after purchase)(Even though the router is next to your notebook still 4 bar)

i'm using two Asus laptops

- Asus Eee 900HA (a 4 yr old netbook) connected to my LCD monitor for my MIL to watch movies
Got it 4 yrs again with SNBB promo. still going strong

- Asus Eee 1215B for work, emails, and light gaming like WC3, Dota, L4D2
my 1st ever official laptop I buy from a local AD at Funan. ^.^
i bought it 2.5yrs ago because of a few reasons:
a) It is a gaming netbook. If you search for Asus 1215B in HWZ forums, you will understand why =)

b) i am able to do future upgrades. change ram. change normal HDD to SSD if I want to

c) comparing other AMD Fusion E350 netbooks in the same category, this is the best performer

Asus k42dr - I think I'm the only guy owning AMD Phenom II X3 mobile
based notebook in SG.
Reason why I brought this over i5 is because at that time
AMD Phenom II X3 has 3 physical cores i5 has two physical
core and two virtual core via HT.

Battery wise is good, can survive 3 hours on normal usage.
This notebook have been with me for 3 straight years,
yet it have failed, overheat or shutdown.

Glad I pick this one despite it's very hard to find it.
Downside is the graphic card which is radeon 5470 which
is a general purpose card but not for gaming.

Aiming at future AMD notebook based on kaveri in the future.
Henabi, wow you still got Asus 1215B? I thought you have
change it already by now.

I use Macbook Pro 13.3 Non-Retina 2013 cheapest model.

And Asus 1225B. AMD E450 with SSD. It's light so I bring it around. RAM cannot upgrade though and I find the SSD damn lecheh to change.

Im using a weird looking toshiba u840w because it was selling at cheap and somemore with ms student afew months back. Mai hiam buay pai. Somemore got 'branded speakers' accordingly to the promoters who sold to me. Oh well, can't complain given its an ultrabook at almost 1000bucks w ms student 2013 somemore.

So far so good for me, just converted from a mac air after it died on me 2 times in 2yrs. SiGhh.

So far, my experience with most Toshiba & Asus laptops has been more or less evenly matched.
except for Super ultraportable (even before MBA), Toshiba Portege series has long been known for its thinness and feather light and also its quality is far more superior than Asus Zen.

with the soon-to-be-released Asus Zen Infinity, I am just waiting to see what Toshiba will do to outdo its competitors

but of cuz, there are other good PC & laptop makers like Fujitsu, NEC, Panasonic, Sharp, ONKY and Sony

for me, I feel that both Asus & Toshiba are creating laptops which are high quality and more importantly, making it affordable.

Using toshiba u840w! Unique shaped ultrabook built w excellent speakers! Battery life not that bad also. Im surprised by the reviews here of toshiba products but when I asked around my friends like not many ppl uses it. So how many people actually owns a toshiba notebook here?

Lenovo t400..... Brought it 3-4 years. Not bad, the build very robust. I am looking for a new laptop to buy in the next 1-2 years.....
