As per title, which backup software would you recommend? I just collected back my repaired laptop which could not boot up despite repairing/recovering/restoring with all the recovery disks, etc. Heart-ache loosing all the data in the laptop after going through all the repairing, recovery and restore process. To avoid the same heart-ache again, I am now determined to install a proper backup software that will do full backup (boot disk full backup and all data full backup) and differential backup everyday automatically for me. Could you recommend one such software?

I had googled online but there are so many different software and with confusing contradicting review/comments, so now really confused which would be a good one to use?

Most backup software does similar things. Maybe some have more polish interface or workflow. You can try Comodo Backup and see if it's okay for you.

Windows 7 comes with built-in Backup and Restore.
Windows 8 comes with built-in File History.

Both allows creating System Image Backups too.

Maybe you don't need anything else, unless you're not using Windows. :s22:

Previously I used Acronis True Image. It is one of the very best os imaging software but it gave me some problem when I swop hdd and I need to troubleshoot. It is user friendly, full of customisation and tweaks.

Ever since I use windows 8, my old Acronis can no longer be installed. So no choice I just use the built-in feature in win 8 to do the imaging.

But I dun really like Windows' implementation.

If I'm not wrong, the image is not just a single-file implementation like for Acronis, but many files form the image.

Hi, as mentioned in my original post, my laptop with win7 failed to boot up and even the win7 backup restore and recovery disk couldn't get it back running again and this includes setting it back to factory mode. Though managed to save some files as backup prior to resetting to factory mode, the files were not complete for dont know what reason, so it would be best to have some other external backup software that can help to automatically backup all my files somewhere else in another drive.

get yourself a Raided NAS. I've used Allway Sync and find it pretty good...
