Somehow if someone needs to stretch one's spending 15% more just to reach the min spend requirements and get a few percents of cashback, that's a net loss if instead one would have saved that money.

I think those cards with min spending only make sense if anyway you would have spent at least as much even if there would be no incentive.

Exactly right — you should never stretch, only target the maximum rewards you can safely get with what you spend already. DBS does not make it easy, usually your spend has to match the specified types, categories and amounts, plus hit the minimum etc, otherwise base rewards rate is almost zero.

Dbs makes it still much easier than UOB requirements where you need to hit the min spend for a FULL quarter.

Plus, with just 1 dollar spent on a dbs credit card, you unlock one of the categories for bonus interest on multiplier, that's a very flexible offer compared to the other banks. You can still get the higher interest rate on multiplier even if you mainly use another credit card for cashback or miles in another bank.

Don't forget about DBS debit card link to multiplier account (it is also a multi currency account ) no fees. Convert foreign currency at no transaction charge, that's 3% savings. Use debit for overseas online transaction or overseas sending.

Just transfer from Multiplier account (foreign currency) to same account. Do take note that not all foreign are available (like TWD).

It is also a modest 3% rebate for minimum S$400 spend, I think.
