which SMS app?

I'm not so much a social media person, still using good old SMS text for most of my communicatioins. Just wondering which SMS apps are using and why.

My list:

- SMS Backup+: obviously to backup, great it saves it Gmail
- GoSMS pro: blacklist feature, add name
- mySMS vs MightyText: still evaluating but for SMS'ing from desktop at work

Incidentally when I installed mySMS - there was a notification to keep SMS below 500 to prevent slowdowns in the phone. Is this true for mySMS or for all Android phones regardless of Apps?
