Many years ago when this show is going to be released, I heard there is 2 ver coming, Gong Li and Fang Ji Wei, but never seen Fang Ji Wei ver, so i thought it is just rumor, but seems like it is true.
Apparently back then Mainland actors movies are not to be exported out to Taiwan, and so in order to penetrate Taiwan's market, they came out with a 2 actors/actresses version of the same movie, 1 for mainland, 1 for taiwan.
So onset, 1 actress will go ahead and shoot her scene, then immediately the 2nd one will go ahead and reshoot the same scene after the first one, that means both actors/actresses are on set together for the entire shooting.
What is interesting is that rumors has it that Fang Ji Wei is not willing to do this movie, probably forced into doing it, so before she retire, she actually bought the rights to the Taiwan ver and stopped any distribution. But Taiwanese already get to see her ver on the big screen.
