The actors know if you are clapping for them? The actors can hear your cheers?

I watched jurassic world movie and got one scene so many idiots clapped and cheered. Then once the movie over got people clap and standing ovation for what is essentially a mediocre movie.

So whats the point of clapping and cheering? do for who?

Why not? If people are inspired to clap and cheer, perhaps they are more into the movie than others? It's not so much about the actors hearing the cheers, but more that the directors successfully evoked feelings in the audience.

I think most of us who watched Endgame in theatres cheered at the moment we heard "To your right." And even more when Cap wielded mjolnir.
