Hi all,
I have recently got my Xperia Z .... However I have a problem with this phone.
It's not detecting my router SSID... But other service provider SSID appear ....
Anyone have problems with connecting with your home wifi.

I have change channel number from 1 to 11... Then SSID appear but authentication fail ....

Any kind soul like to share some possible solution to this...

I have been calling starhub n Sony... Nothing work out... The advice from starhub is to bring the phone down to them.

I mentioned in the other thread twice.

like carlover76 taught me,

go to your network settings, wifi settings,

is your network password using WPA/WPA 2?

mine is like that for years...

my previous phone Sony Arc didnt have any problem with it.

until I got my Sony Z, it always dropped my wifi and then had Authentication Problem

so like advised, I went to my network settings (computer, not phone), and changed the password type to WEP instead of WPA/WPA2

WEP is an older version, less encrypted... WPA2 is newer and more encrypted and more secure... but who the heck is gonna hack into my home network anyways? I got nothing to steal

after setting it to WEP,

my phone can detect my wifi and dont have any issues at all

Might want to bring down and check just to be sure. WPA2 personal, WPA/WPA2 mixed works for me, able to detect and connect with no issues. However if WEP works and you're okay with that wifi security setting then go with it. Just like what bigbadber has said, I'm also aware that older devices not being able to establish wifi connection with WPA2 and such, like the PSP but this isn't an old device so.... :s22::s22::s22:

Btw, using a Linksys e2000 router here
