Will this display configuration not work?

I want to connect a Lenovo X260 to two 2k 60Hz monitors via displayport.

The Lenovo X260 has a 6600U CPU. The specs here:

Under GPU, the maximum resolution supported is 4k @60Hz.

Referring to Display Data Calculator, the bitrate for 4k 60Hz is 11.12GBps

The bitrate for 2k 60Hz display is 4.94GBps

So two 2k 60Hz monitor means total requirement is 9.88GBps. This is less than 11.12GBps, so maybe this will work, provided I close the laptop lid and do not enable the onboard display.

If I also enable the onboard Lenovo display (12" 1366x768) the bit rate is 1.41GBps. Adding it all up will be 11.29GBps, exceeding 11.12GBps. So likely this will not work.

Can anyone confirm if the calculation seems ok?

Which ports are you using, does the laptop have 2 displayports? This is what i got from their spec sheet. It looks like only one mini displayport and one hdmi. So both are limited by their own ports. You can't aggregate the ports bandwith together.

My two 2k displays are daisy-chained using displayport. I plan to connect one display (the one with DP MST) to the mini DP output of the laptop.

That should work but best to make sure the monitor you purchased supports it.

Currently the two 2k displays are already connected to the DP of my desktop PC - so this setup works.

So all three displays (laptop display + two 2k displays) will work? If so that's good news. I purchased just the mini DP to DP cable to test first.

If the laptop connection works, then I will buy a DP switch, so I can switch between the two computers.
