win 8 restarts for no reason

Just using it halfway and it just restarted like this.

Clicked on the store icon and then just shut down and started up again. It's on my desktop.


No windows error msg when you restarted unlike earlier versions of windows. What is going on?

Can you reproduce this issue again? It may have just been an update that required you to restart, but you did not restart within 3 days of it's prompting.

check the dump files (if it created one). download and run BlueScreenView. It should let you see what's causing it.

Or you can check the Event Logs go to indepth as to what caused the autorestart.

It is Windows, auto restart is a hidden feature. It runs at random
