Hi,
I an using iPhone 16 Pro with iOS26.2.
Just one month ago, when I do screenshots, it was still saved in png format and ther is no problem reading by windows 11.

As of today, all my screen shots for the past few days was saved under heic and it is not readable by windows 11.
But all other photo taking that was also saved under heic format can be read by my laptop on windows 11!

I have not touch any setting in my iphone and I'm not sure why suddenly all screen shot were saved under heic and cannot be read by windows 11

one thing I'm not sure is if this happened after I update to iOS26.2 and those screen shots saved under png was still under iOS26.1

Anyone facing this issue?

update: I just checked my phone screen capture settings its under HDR instead of SDR (most compatible).
but questions remain, does the heic format have different sub format that windows 11 can read one and not the other?

Yes, heic isn't readable by windows.
Revert your settings back then should work fine again.

The normal photo shooting with the iphone camera which is in heic format is readable by my laptop, but the screenshot in heic format is not readable.
