One is portable w/ battery and sets up its own wireless network so you can use it without internet.
The other is not portable and I think you need internet to connect to it, but capacity should be larger.

A NAS connected to network can also transfer files wireless. Depending on the wifi standard used, speed varies.

are u primarily using it at home/office? Uploading 1Gb per file (?) from external is not really fun, can be painstakingly slow if you have like 10 files to upload.

Western Digital My Cloud is a regular NAS on your network with a host of features which allow u to access from outside via web or phone/tablet apps. H/W performance looks really decent. Again if you upload from internal with good wifi connections that's the key -> wifi speeds. e.g. can do abt 100+mbps upload speeds wifi but wired might go up to 200mbps
