my boss expects me to be working from home during working hours but i am on HL and supposed to be resting at home. if i dont respond to her within one hour, she would call me up and reprimand me. what should i do?
tell her that your pay only covers only a certain stipulated and agreed number of days and hours.
if she wants you to work extra hours, ask if she is willing to negotiate a higher salary, or if you can take X number of hours off to compensate for the X hours that you work outside your office hours.
ask for a promotion/higher pay, tell her that since you are so indispensable until she requires you outside office hours, you must be very essential to the company and indisposable.
also, dont respond to her since you're already on leave.
plus: look for another job.
i know someone whose boss expects him to work while he is out on reservist. female boss. obviously she doesnt understand reservist. at the same time, there was another staff who was under maternity leave cos she gave birth. did the female boss ask this woman to submit her work? No.
know your rights, your value, and know how to speak up for yourself.
there is no more loyalty in singapore work scene. employees can easily quit and jump ship as quickly as bosses can fire them and replace new ones.
