Wow, this is really crazy. 18K for a casing. Although I do know that it is difficult to make curved tempered glass (hence the high cost), I don't see what benefits it has in a casing vs more traditional materials like laminated glass or fused silica glass.

As for the carbon fiber. Its quite a novelty in casing but it has been around esp. for automobiles for ages. So, its nothing new.

I think the cost of your parts inside that casing could be even less than the cost of the casing itself. lol

Aiyah if you got $$$ to burn, can also make yourself a GOLD Casing.
Like how last time NKF Durai got GOLD TOILET.

Wonder how they derived the $18K figure. If they included labour costs/man-hours, R&D, tooling, very easy to inflate the figure. Building a one off prototype custom anything is always going to be more expensive vs the mass produced version cos no economies of scale. Even if the parts not exp, the salaries of the ppl supervising the project can easily infate the 'cost'... depending on how they calculate it.

Oh this one is for rich elites. Audio equipment is known to be very expensive. Then the mentality is that if you pay over 100k for amps and speakers, whats 21k for a cable?

But then, no single computer component cost 18k. Even a quadro p6000 is about 5-6k. Titanxp is 1.2k, cpu around 2k or less. In the end, the component cost is nowhere near cost of the casing.

Then its just an empty casing, no special features or functions. If it comes with a built-in phase change cooler, still can accept.

I still dont not what kind of r&d they need. Every material they use is widely available in the market. Its like you just come out with design, then get someone to build for you. From the looks, i bet corsair design it themselves. They didnt even ask some design house to do it for them. It looks so normal. Its like you make a toyota, then upgrade it with carbon fiber stuff and special windows then charge lambo prices for it. No matter what you do, toyota is still toyota.
