Hi,

I got an excess $1,000 USD with me now which I changed during my last vacation.

I am looking to sell USD and buy SGD.

We can arrange for an exchange of currencies based on the average buy/sell rates shown at ArcadeMoneyChangers website. For an example, if the buy/sell rates are 1.395/1.403 then the average is 1.399.

$1,000 USD = $1,399
http://arcademoneychangers.com.sg/ratesbiglogo.asp

You pass me $1,399 SGD and I will pass you my $1,000 USD. We both save about $4 on commission charges taken by money changers. :)

PS: This transaction is not suitable for suspicious buyer who don't trust my notes. Go to money changer then.

i am still holding the USD. i am just too lazy to go down to money changer.

if you live near paya lebar and drive, PM me. we can transact at the road side near my place once you pass by changi road or sims avenue.

i have updated the dealing criteria on the first post. why ArcadeMoneyChangers? because their rates are the best in town.

Hmm sorry beg to differ. Arcade money changer rate is not the lowest in arcade.

Anyway I dont stay near paya lebar and arcade is much nearer to my place.

If i can buy at SGD1403 for USD1000 and from you at SGD1399. $4 savings is great for someone who live near you.

Thanks I shall give it a miss.

I am curious, why did u change from spot rate to become Arcade rate?

the average rates from Arcade is the spot rate. money changers will add 1 or 2% from spot rates to create the buy/sell rate. if i want to be more real time accurate, i could use the rates from my interactive brokers account. problem is not everyone has this account.

at first i used oanda but i realised the rate is delayed.

if i go to arcade myself, i need to spend a few dollars for transportation. i can go but i am not desperate to change. i can still hold on the usd. thats why i prefer to meet someone who is near my place. win-win for both of us.

best as in what? most likely the spread is smaller, that means they are absorbing lesser commission. remember they have to quote the "best" rate for buy and sell.

the average will still remain about the same. that is the spot rate.
