Hi guys,

I've alot of time (and about a hundred dollars or so) on hand so I'm thinking of trying something; take the Xbox 360 components and put them in a HTPC or similar small-dimension casing. Currently I'm just studying feasibility and possible issues, but since I'm going to spend much effort on this I might as well chuck the power supply in it as well. This project therefore will have two objectives: inherently quieter operation and convenient transportation.

I've searched for quite awhile and have not found any such mod (although I think Silverstone has a custom X360 case), most are just modding the stock chassis. So my first question is how to integrate the PSU into the new case, short of just strapping it in? Not sure this would help but here's the connector anyway (top right).

Also, as for heatsink, would it be possible to buy a big-block heatsink and drill holes from the bottom for screwing on directly? There is sufficient clearance lengthwise and height shouldn't be a problem.

Cheerio,
Nicholas.
