Xiaomi Mijia IP Camera Connection Issue

Hi,

I am looking everywhere for this issue, hopefully someone can help me out. Thank you.

I have bought a Xiaomi Mijia 130° IP camera and connected to a wireless router. Once the router have no internet connection, there is no way I can view the cam. Only when the router have internet connection, then I will be able to view the cam. Is there any other way to view the cam without the router having internet connection?

My scenario is I going to install this cam in a shop cashier counter but there is no internet over at the shop. I hope someone have a solution for this ip cam. Thank you.

The name IP camera is self explanatory, you need an IP for off site viewing.

If no broadband internet plan or subscription, you can use mobile connection, get a spare mobile phone with mobile data and set it to hotspot/tether mode.

Economical or not, your call.

No internet then go for the tried and tested CCTV. If not you can follow commach's suggestion.
