Xiaomi tipped to launch Pad 7 in February with top-tier chipsets

Xiaomi brought the Pad 6 Pro to China in April 2023; now it is time for the Pad 7 lineup. According to Digital Chat Station, the new flagship tablet will be launched next month, and it will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

The leakster suggested there is a Pad 7 incoming with last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, while the Pro should have the current top-tier SoC by Qualcomm. This would be a massive improvement over the previous Pad 6 lineup, where the Pro and the Max had a one-year-old chip, while the vanilla version we reviewed last summer had a dated Snapdragon 870.

The Pad 7 could arrive with 100W fast charging, and the Pad 7 Pro might have an OLED panel, which would be a first for a Xiaomi tablet - all slates have been launched with an LCD.

All these features sound great, but it would be even greater if the company actually decided to bring the Pro outside China, as all top-tier tablets have been limited to the domestic market so far.

note: there are 2 keyboard models

i often find it difficult to comment on build quality, it can be quite a vague area

suggest to hands-on in physical stores

do also understand the limitations of mobile OS, best to double-check on your usage scenario

I've been using the Pad 6 for more than a year. I use it with the keyboard (and rarely the stylus).

So far so good. Recently having issues with pairing with a Huawei mouse. But a big issue.

I was a Samsung tablet user (used 2 prior). Didn't purchase the keyboard for the Samsung tablets.

The Xiaomi tablets are really worth their value. So much cheaper than the Samsung tablets. Even the case holds up so much better than the Samsung ones! My Samsung cases tend to tear at the edges with use.

I use the Pad 6 every day. I travel every few weeks and the Pad 6 is like my life!

How's the experience like? Will it lag etc?
The screen quality better than Samsung?
I guess I will get it more for media consumption.

Slightly more expensive from China set.
Keyboard free gift seems like the basic one.
