Been looking to change my old TicWatch Pro 1st gen and found this well priced Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro at the shop and bought it.

The Silver colour with tan "leather" strap looks really good.

The thickness is not too bad plus it has a rotating crown which can be pressed in as button and 2 side buttons.

At the back, there's a lot of sensors and 2 pins for magnetic puck charger to attach to.

The bands are 22mm universal with easy to remove slider pins.

Sadly, the charger is USB Type-A only. Wish it was Type-C but I guess Xiaomi has to cut corner somewhere...

The Watch 2 Pro is snappy to navigate. Pressing the bottom button twice brings up G Pay which can be used to pay for public transport. The rotating crow is great when scrolling text messages and emails without blocking the screen.
Battery Life has been fantastic after 2 days of use. Charged it 100% around 10 pm a day ago and battery finally reach 10% after more than 1.5 days of somewhat heavy use due to playing with the watch, going for a jog with full GPS, heartrate monitor + bluetooth music from the watch's YouTube Music app (No slow downs)

The Watch 2 Pro is running WearOS 3.5 but I can activate Google Assistance on the watch using catchphrase 'Hey Google' or pressing and holding down crown button. Everything is responsive, including looking at the map on the watch.

The vibration of the watch is also strong and easy to feel. The speakers is also plenty loud. I haven't tried calling on the watch yet.

For the price of S$299, I think its one of the best WearOS watches out in the wild right now.

The screen is also plenty bright compared to my old TicWatch Pro.

Looks good. Look like the free gift from the early bird promotion of the 13T Pro

Pulled the trigger too early to buy Ticwatch Pro 5 to replace my Ticwatch E3, should have waited and gotten this instead.

Ah, TicWatch 5 has much better sensors, the dual screen feature to save power and bigger battery. Probably better build too. Its still a great watch and I considered upgrading to that from my old TicWatch Pro.

This Xiaomi must use its app (Mi Fitness) and can't use WearOS to register the watch so its a little fishy. More over, TicWatch 5 is more geared towards fitness and adventurous people so it might suit you better.
Xiaomi has basic fitness features only and I am not fit or adventurous so it suits me.

Watches on WearOS 3 onwards must use OEM specific companion app and no longer with WearOS app, like for mine, it's the Mobvoi Health app to pair.

Actually I have been facing a few issues with my Pro 5 which I never had with my E3, most annoying is the NFC which doesn't work properly at all, don't know how many times I jam up the gantries at MRT stations because of this. Initially thought it's just my unit, I asked on Reddit and it seems to be this model's issue.

This watch also has connectivity issue with Xiaomi phones, I am using Poco F5 Pro as my primary and consistently the watch will just stop syncing with the phone, only way is to turn off and on bluetooth on watch or phone side. Mobvoi confirmed it is an issue and currently has no plans to fix this.

The only good thing is indeed the dual-screen and decent battery life as a result of it. To me, this new Ticwatch Pro 5 is a complete headache, pretty shocking considering I had 0 issues with my E3 apart from the lack of software upgrade to WearOS 3. Will probably sell it off to get this Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro instead. 🫣

I have a Noob smart watch / wear os question. Does the Google pay works on BT models even if your phone is not with you? I presume not right?

Also keen on this watch over Samsung due to the design. Hope to see more reviews online first, especially on the heart rate accuracy.

Yes, you can pay with Google Pay without your phone, offline, no internet. That is because the watch has the required credit card information stored internally already.
The payment terminal does the transaction, not your watch. Your watch only need to provide the payment terminal the credit card detailed through NFC.

Oh, I have heard of some issues with TicWatch Pro 5 like you mentioned. I was researching to get TicWatch Pro 5 or Samsung Watch 6 Classic. Then out of no where, Xiaomi released this Watch 2 Pro with WearOS at such a low price so I went with it. Glad I waited.

For the past week, I have been able to pay at MRT gantries without a problem and payment was instant.
I also stopped paying at MRT gantries on my old TicWatch Pro because NFC don't work half the time. Other times, it was just tooo slow loading G-Pay...

If you're using Xiaomi phone, maybe a Xiaomi watch will do better. Hope you can get a very good price when selling the Ticwatch Pro 5.

May I know your charging habits with this watch? I suppose the charge could last 1.5 days in real world use, so you would usually just give it a quick charge daily? Also, which store in SG did you get this pair from? Thanks :)

Charging Habits? I charge when I wake up before going to work everyday. The watch is very quick to charge, 0 - 100% in about 40 mins. I charge about 20 mins in the morning, which charge enough to last whole day. Sleep with the watch on to monitor sleep. Weekends, I charge to 100% on Saturday morning and I still have 20% at the end of Sunday, I'll charge it tomorrow morning.

I got my pair from Xiaomi Experience Store at Funan.

That seems fine to me. I'm using amazfit gtr 2 now, so the battery can last more than 6 to 7 days. Not sure if I will mind charging it everyday, but 20mins a day while I shower or change is definitely doable. Thanks!

Saw xiaomi official store on shopee listing it at $299, bought it with a $25 voucher. Haven't had the chance to visit xiaomi store to try the demo, but excited to get it after watching some reviews!

Sadly, I've arranged for a return. The remote camera app can't link to my s23+, it's says unsupported. The Google assistant was having problem linking up to my account too. My Spotify control don't seem to work on the watch too. I tried to play music via the watch, but it just fails.

Aside from the above connectivity issues, I really like the looks and build of the watch. The price is great for the package. If I'm using a xiaomi phone, this may be the best buy.

I've bought a galaxy pro 5 instead after returning the above.
