after my 5ii lightsabered and 1iii bricked itself out of nowhere (both used taobao sets), looking for a replacement compact phone available locally with sdcard and optionally headphone jack, but looks like only sony has good options. currently shortlisted 5v and 10vi, but the 5v is still up nearly 1k with the 10vi around half that. wondering if the price differential is worth it to step up to the 5v.
5v pros:
much faster sd8g2
120hz screen
better cameras with pro mode and shutter button
silver colour available
10vi pros:
more durable plastic construction
newer with more software updates
significantly cheaper
or if anyone have other brand and model suggestion pls sic :o

Yes it's worth a step up.

Have you ever considered the Aquos sense 9 or R9 ? They have microsd but no 3.5mm, but are a lot cheaper er and more bang for buck

looked at the sense9, but the 10vi is cheaper and basically trades the the hrr screen for headphone jack. the sense9 is also not super well reviewed, but at least rooks rike got demo units at malls to try. the sense8 is also very similar to the 10vi and even cheaper, though has shorter software support. not a huge fan of the 7sg2 though, which is just a rebranded 6g1 (same as 10vi and sense8).
the r9 is huge and drops the jack and camera features vs the 5v.

You can go 313 to try out both 5v and 10vi. They have real sets displayed, unless they took away.

IF I'm not worried about budget I would get 5v (display will turn blue when tilted but colors very accurate ) though. 10vi also a good choice. First 10 series phone with dual front firing speakers and ip68 IIRC.

Some real world users review of 10vi
