They have 3/4 windows for newer btos, only living room.

Bedrooms and study room 1/2 windows.

Engineering wise, full height windows are cheaper to build than using concrete. Reduce building load also, concrete is a lot heavier than glass and aluminium frames.

but HDB must also look at maintenance, design, differentiating between standard and more premium projects etc. Condo is one project. HDB can have multiple projects side by side. If all have full height window, then it will really look similar. There are HDB projects with full height windows also. Most BTOs today come with 3/4 height windows in all rooms already, or 3/4 for living room and 1/2 for some bedrooms.

If full glass windows, someone in apt, kids, adults or old folks, lean/crashed into glass and shattered it, falling from high floor, not only the resident uplorry, anyone walking below also injured or uplorry.

Who responsible?

Full length window (glass) should cost less than equivalent concrete wall.

They are not welcomed if your unit faces the sun.
Yes, that’s the main reason. Condo units all come with AC to mitigate that

Previously, AC was quite a luxury for many families. Although they may be the minority now, there are families who still can’t afford AC.
