陽明山 Yangmingshan Questions

Hi Folks,

I am planning a trip to Taipei in August. I will be staying in Shilin area.

Just some questions to ask for all the veterans who been to Yangmingshan before.

1) How much and what is mode of payment for bus rides up to the mountain? Upfront cash? Are all bus rides the same payment method?

2) Is it possible to reach the highest peak 七星 on foot within a day? Assuming we go early in the morning.

Any advices / Recommendations / stories to share will be greatly appreciated.

You could buy "Easy Card" when you arrive Taiwan. This card is available for Taipei Metro and all buses in Taipei.Each time for bus ride costs 15NTD dollars.

1) how much. dont rmb. there are quite some routes going up. you have to check. u can take from beitou MRT for example. EasyCard payment.

2) Yes. But prepare for it. not that easy physically and rather ulu. if i didnt rmb wrongly, u need to change bus mid mountain.

So The Easy card I assume is You You card. Even the mini bus accept you you card? So is it flat rate even if get off mid way? Tap when you alight?

1. You You card
Since the bus crosses 2 fare zones(NTD15x2), you should tap when you board & alight. The machine will calculated your fare.Keep it simple, ask the driver.
