Hi if I posted in wrong forum can the mods kindly help to shift it to the correct place thanks.
I have a Zenbook UX303 running Win 8.1 and an S5 running Android Lollipop.
I tried transferring a single file of 600MB from my laptop to my phone and it always disconnect before the file managed to be transferred successfully. However if I use an old laptop (Lenovo X200 on Win 7) or a desktop Win 7 and there is no issue.
Steps Taken to solve issue
1. Made sure ports on laptop and phone are cleaned.
2. Tried using 2 different USB wires
3. Tried using all ports from my laptop and the fast charge port on my external monitor (Dell U2414H)
4. Tried to transfer only when phone is fully charged so as to reduce the power draw from my laptop or monitor
5. Throughout the transfer I didn't use any apps or programs on both phone and laptop.
Since this issue is isolated only when I use my Zenbook, what could be the issue? Software incompatibility or being an ultra book it can't handle the power draw from my phone?
Thanks for the help or any input from anyone.
