For Twitchy AMD Tweakers
AmdMsrTweaker - New Versions

MarcusBSN said:
Hi,

as announced in the original thread of AmdMsrTweaker, I took over development of the tool. In this thread I will announce new releases and hope to get feedback from the community. I'm open for feature suggestions. However I don't plan to implement a GUI at this point.

For usage instructions consult the included readme.txt file or the original thread.

Release Notes:
v1.1 2013-04-09
- support for Trinity and Richland APUs
- preliminary support for Kaveri APUs

Download:
AmdMsrTweaker v1.1

I am in the process of preparing the source code for a release on GitHub.

As an author at Bright Side of News I will also promote the tool there:
BSN* Exclusive: AmdMsrtweaker v1.1 Released, Trinity Support Inside - Bright Side Of News*

Original thread: New tool: AmdMsrTweaker

Note to the original author:
I have tried to contact you via forums (such as this) where you promoted the original release of the tool since I didn't find an e-mail address of yours. Until today I didn't receive a reply. If you want to comment on the situation, please drop me a line.

Relax lah, that's just an old expired listing from last year. Got to ask the property guys if AMD is still trying to do the same now...

Was also surprised to stumble on the posting while googling for photos of the building.

btw, the Maths behind "Centurion" explained
AMD FX.. Centurion?

Anyone remembers this quirky AMD surprise from ~4 years back ?
AMD Model 42 TWKR

Meanwhile, I have been happily chugging along with my test rig Model Centurion-10 for the past few months. Read that as Centurion minus 10 cos at 4.5GHz, it is precisely 10% less than this rumoured Centurion. :D

Yep, get one of the better Asus, Asrock, MSI or GB 990FX mobo, then consider OCing.....

FX-8350 Retail Box

And I also finally got a new retail box set today too.

Ripped open for cooking liao cos tonight's cool rainy weather is perfect timing for testing!

For non-extreme users imo, presently AMD Vishera is easier and more fun than Intel Ivy since they do not need to be delidded to avoid overheating. Getting hidden WHEA warnings can get really tiresome when pushing Ivy.

FX-8350 1245PGN - OK, Let It Rip!

Removed the old 1227PGN specimen and plopped down the new, fired it up to check the VIDs and then onto the same 4.5GHz@+0.05V Vcore offset for starters. Seems slightly higher VIDs all round at 0.912-1.375-1.425 vs the old chip at 0.900-1.350-1.425V but no matter, it is all good to go!

★ FX-8350 1245PGN@4.5GHz no Turbo | 8GB KVR1333@1866 | Antec 920 | CHVF | HIS HD7850 IQ X Turbo | Corsair AX760i ★

Ambient local air, non-aircon

VIDs

xvid4PSP - less than 100% overall loading

Ripbot264 - nearly 100% overall loading

Decided to try dropping Vcore offset to +0.025V and blend it like Beckham

P95 Blend

Seems a-OK so far, looks like 4.5GHz UVOC may be a given easy o'c for quite a few FX-8350 chips as both my specimens clocked it up so effortlessly within minutes. Statisticians probably won't agree to the tiny sample size though.

Nice! :)

PS: There may be an incoming new batch of reportedly PGT chips which I was actually hoping for when getting this new chip.

Centurion-10 Mk II Rig is now battle-proven stable after more an hour of bashing around in Bioshock Infinite and COD MW3, gaming stress loading job being sub-contracted out to the convalescent beta-tester kiddo... very nice! :)

Nice bro, what abt power consumption? Seriously got improvement?
Maybe with the incoming rumoured PiaGeT batches, this chip is still the older PaGaN like my previous sample. :D

990FXA-UD3 is a well recommended board... more like the overclocking chap was using water cooling and neglected to cool the vrms with a spot fan. Even tower fans dont cool the vrms much and there is only so much passive heat dissipation from vrm heatsinks.

Well, it pays to be careful - just read below cos someone's FX CPU got burned along as well.

gigabyte 990fx vrm fried? warranty? need advice!
