Yep it's quite soft by default. But you can install viper4droid and Pump up the volume by a few times and it will become loud.

So viper4android works with Pipo M7? I tried to install it for my Onda 818 Mini and my Ainol Aurora II but it seems like its not compatible (does not appear in the Playstore). It is compatible with my Google Nexus but the speakers on my Nexus are loud enough already

My new toy, Pipo M7 Pro 3G just delivered ytd :)

Build quality excellent, feels solid..not the flimsy plastic feel like Note 8.0.
Screen looks gorgeous -its a Samsung PL panel...the very same panel in the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 . Interface is very responsive too.

Played the bundled music..too loud for me at full vol, however the video seem softer in comparison. 720p video playback is smooth with no jerkiness.

Those are initial impressions, still need to do further testing and exploring.

Wow! I am so close to pulling the trigger! Just trying to do more research on the new sdk 2.0 for rk3188 chips. Where did u buy from? Price? How long for delivery?

Re the speakers, good to know that they r loud enough. Audiology mentioned that it was quite soft in his response below.

Could you search for viper4android and see if it can be installed on yr Pipo M7? I read that this app can really boost the volume. Thks

mic tablet speakers jin tu long type.... i rather u get those case with speakers.

i had one so far so good..

Not keen on case with speakers bec they add too much bulk.

And not true that all mic tablets have weak speakers. My Ainol Aurora II and my Ainol Hero both have very decent speakers. The Onda 818 Mini is the one that is quite weak.

Pls refer to my post for more ...the speaker vol is loud for music files, youtube videos also too loud at full vol - had to turn down to about 70%, but less so for external hd videos. However with earphones, sound quality is superb and loud.
I dont see the need for viper4android..its loud and audible enough for me, besides I will use the earphones most of the time...dont want to annoy people seated next to you :)

Cannot make voice calls only for 3G data..unless if you know of some hack to make this into a mobile phone, pls let me know :)

snoopydog, please share how is the wifi with your pipo, thanks :)

As good as my iphone 4s, please refer to my previous post.

Wow, then that is really good if it is remotely similar to your 4S. My 4S wifi reception is a lot better than that on my U39GT.

The only thing that held me back from Pipo (aside from the higher price tag) was the wifi problems I kept seeing in different user feedback because of the aluminum back.

good to know you got a good unit.

I read Pipo company's profile on their site...impressed by their cred. So far reviews have been positive about their quality.

Lucky for me :s12:...wifi is ok for my set...only gripe so far is the screen panel not centred :(

Yes..its a bit more expensive than the rest, IMO, I think its worth the premium for their quality...I was thinking then less chance of receiving a faulty set :s13:, besides I wanted the inbuilt 3G and GPS as well...useful and handy to bring for overseas travel.

I thought the Pipo did not have a full metal back? from the photos, it seems like there are plastic cut-outs. OTOH, the iFive X2 does have a full metal casing and i have read various reports about poor wifi on the X2

Great review! Thks for taking the time to write it. It's great to read some first hand impresssions rather than all those youtube marketing videos. Am quite impressed by the packaging yr tablet came in - looks like they used a box within a box which should cushion the tablet. My biggest worry about buying a tablet online is the possible damage on transit.

Btw, if there is any warranty issues, does hiragawa handle the mailing back and repairs? Is he based in Singapore? Thks

Edit: did you manage to try out the 3G yet?

I don't have the m7 so idk if works with it but it worked with my x2.

The x2 has a full plastic back. The sides which looks like aluminium are just painted to look like one.
