1. Measure the length u wan > i use fingernail to mark
im making custom length for my mITX, else recommend jus sleeve your psu oem cable.
psu oem cable can be purchased. so no worries

2. Cut the wire using wire cutter. dont recommend scissor thou

3. Measure 0.2mm and mark it. > again fingernail

Step by Step - Crimping
16awg / double wire - use btm one
18awg - use middle one
20-24awg - use top one

10620770_10152627418974659_382137497287693105_n.jpg

1. Adjust the knot to the lowest. so that it wont crash and will release after e last catch

10514514_10152627419039659_7770139019786036813_n.jpg

2. Apply pressure till u hear 2click* song, form like oval shape and stop
important* do not over crimp! u need to insert the wire later on
** i do short cut straight skip to step 4. but u need to do this for double wire crimp

10552603_10152627419044659_4242387510662684806_n.jpg

3. Release the catch and take out the terminal

10523677_10152627419049659_7798838385060109773_n.jpg

4. Put the electrical wire inside the terminal. slot in e rubber insulator till hit the 2nd wings
e long wings will bite on the insulator, 2nd wings bite e electric wire

10344766_10152627419109659_6141003987386900229_n.jpg

5. Hold on to the wire and terminal and place it on e die. slowly apply pressure till it bite on

10609703_10152627419104659_5815596563827748013_n.jpg

6. Continue apply pressure till the crimper release by itself

10641117_10152627418979659_6946728988093672710_n.jpg

7. This will be the result ! nicely crimp without crushing the wire

10552490_10152627418984659_6929403516222642253_n.jpg

8. Repeat e same thing for the other side. DONE !
important* place the terminals same angle for e side.

Update will be slow but wait till I Ord in early sept then will have time to complete
Other than me anyone DIY-ing?

@ t258jgn
I'm still a amateur. Tink will go crazy if u ask me

@ Jerome
No plan to do that. My cable quite short, using 16awg and pull pet sleeve tight can hold the shape.

Double Wire Guide

10516727_10152640148224659_2722051753398795228_n.jpg

1. Put 2 wire side by side.
Measure at least 4 inches away from crimper and mark 1/4 inches area where u be cutting

2. Cut one of the wire and strip the end

10609726_10152640148274659_654867640665315223_n.jpg

3. Use penknife/xato knife and lightly cut the insulator while rotating.
Slice the middle part and peel off that area u marked

4. Make a hole in the centre of the wire for the other wire to go in

10636217_10152640148219659_569229274359425926_n.jpg

5. Insert the other wire into hole and roll the wire together

6. Use paper clip or something to levitate the wire.
Solder rosin lead wire onto the wire to create bond and better contact
*Go youtube - how to 2 wire soldering guide

10646813_10152640148229659_2021548362867770271_n.jpg

6. End result. my lousy job

Tools
  • Crimper SN-28B
    10441141_10152627310769659_3008589118134398923_n.jpg

There are lots of brand and different price range, they may look the same but e result may be different
What i recommend is dont need to go for expensive crimper like XXXXX's crimper ver.
I currently using CNLX gotten from TAOBAO which result is good
*Important > without good crimping of cable = pin stuck inside connector without wire
    .
  • Wire Cutter
  • Wire Stripper
  • Ruler / Cutting Mat
  • Penknife / Xato Knife
  • Soldering Iron w/ Lead rosin < for double wire

Materials
  • Electrical wire
    Type
    UL1007
    UL3239 Silicone Rubber
    Teflon Silver Plated

    Grading
    Grade 1: 18AWG UL1007 Wire
    Grade 2: 18AWG UL1007 Wire + Sleeve
    Grade 3: 18AWG UL3239 Silicone Rubber Wire
    Grade 4: 18AWG UL3239 Silicone Rubber Wire + Sleeve
Grade 5: 18AWG Silver Plated Wire
  • Terminals
*Important *do not buy short wings terminals! these do not bite the wire well
When pin out will have high chance pin stuck inside connector without wire! then GLHF
