Setting up Singtel eSIM on the Samsung Gear S3 frontier LTE

The Samsung Gear S3 frontier LTE is the first device in Singapore to come with the eSIM. If you’ve bought the Gear S3 frontier LTE from Singtel, you’ll be given an eSIM activation kit. Here’s how you setup the eSIM on your Gear S3 frontier LTE:

Download the Samsung Gear app from the Play Store or Galaxy Apps.
Note: The Gear S3 frontier LTE is also compatible with iOS although features may vary from the screenshots below.

Setting up the eSIM profile

Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your phone to the Gear S3 frontier LTE. When prompted to register the eSIM profile, scan the unique QR code on the activation card provided in the eSIM activation kit.

If you’ve missed the registration of the eSIM profile during the initial setting up process, you can still access it via the Gear manager app: Settings > Register Gear eSIM profile.

The eSIM registration process will take about 30 seconds to complete. Once completed, you need to restart the Gear S3 frontier LTE.

Checking if the eSIM is registered successfully

To check whether the eSIM is successfully registered and working, go to Settings > Gear info > About device > Gear eSIM profile. It should be enabled with Singtel.

Alternatively, disconnect your Gear S3 frontier LTE from the paired phone by turning off the Bluetooth. Swipe down to check for the cellular connection at the top.

Deleting eSIM profile

If you plan to sell or pass on the Gear S3 frontier LTE, you need to delete the eSIM profile by resetting your eSIM profile and terminating your mobile plan associated with the device. You can reset the eSIM profile via Settings > Gear info > Reset Gear > Reset eSIM.

Do note that doing a factory reset of the Gear S3 LTE will not erase your eSIM profile on the device.

Hope Singtel is still active in HWZ cos I have a question for you.

the esim will have a different mobile number since it is on mobileshare plan, so if someone calls me to my handphone number, that means the gear s3 won't ring right?

Yes, you can purchase the Gear S3 frontier LTE outside of Singtel and sign up for our SIM only on eSIM.

how to turn on Auto Call Forwarding upon disconnecting bluetooth

I have S8 and Gear S3 LTE with singtel.

Is there a way to enable auto call forwarding upon bluetooth disconnect ?
On my S8 gear manager, I can only see "call forwarding" option but there is no "auto call forwarding". Thus right now must do manual trigger call forwarding.

I don't know if you went to the retailers or the singtel retail store. Singtel retail store shouldn't run out of this leh, its like no sim card but still opening for business?

Here are the screenshots to enable auto call forwarding upon Bluetooth disconnection:

After following these steps, you can turn off the feature on the "Call" settings of the Gear S3 frontier LTE.
