Touching base with your siblings who are married - and why that is important

[*There are English subtitles. Activate in the playback controls.]

Touch Base With Your Married Sibling/s, Especially During This Difficult Period
Today is the 25th of October, 2020, and it is a beautiful Sunday, with clear blue skies overhead and a good breeze blowing. I can even hear the birds outside chirping happily as I type out this post now. Don't take my word for it, go and take a look out of the window now and see for yourself just how wonderful the weather is today. A beautiful day like today can really do wonders for the soul.

However, not everyone may be in a good mood today.

How many of you are old enough to have siblings who are already married and who have already moved out and started a family of their own?

If you have a sister who is already married and who has already moved out to start her own family with her husband, have you touched base with her and asked after her since the start of this year(when the COVID-19 pandemic struck Singapore)?

IwvGbtF.jpg

If you have not, then today is a good day to do it.

And if you happen to be a gal who is reading this, and you are married and you are going through some problems in your marriage and you are bottling up everything and keeping your troubles to yourself and suffering in silence, and you think that you are about to burst if you carry on like this, please know this: No matter what, family is family, and you can always fall back on your own family; Mummy cares about you and will always love you no matter what; you can always come back and confide in her; your siblings will always be there for you; they are your family. Don't keep everything to yourself.

And to everyone else: SMS, call or WhatsApp your married siblings and touch base with them today, even if it is just to ask how they are doing and how your niece/s, nephew/s are doing, and maybe have a chit-chat with them too. Show your married sibling/s that you have not forgotten about them and let your catching up with them be a cue to let them know that you are there for them should they need to fall back on you, and that, in you, they will have a shoulder to lean on, and also a listening ear.

Gal, this one is for you. Enjoy the song and pay attention to the lyrics and try to understand what it really means. For those who do not understand Chinese, you can highlight the lyrics below and use Google Translate to translate the words.

Be strong, stay strong, gal. Mummy loves you. Your siblings are there for you, no matter what.

If something that causes you so much mental distress that it manifest into physiological response from your body... usually it does.. like how you hear of people feeling nausea, heart racing when they having a panic attack.

It may looks like pseudo science.. but I try before.. and it does work... especially if certain incidents cause physiological response... this requires zero money... just need some mental work like recalling the images, sounds, smells that causes it.. then proceed to the tapping of meridien to disassociate the physiological response...

Because it is like a loop... you recall something and feel so "bad" about it that it manifest as physiological response... then it reinforce it.... so what you doing with this is to break up the loop. :D

I get the feeling it is not so bad in Singapore... our Singapore govt is pretty kiasu and pretty much have the same kind of mindset like the people in this thread. :s13:

Depends, if you go to supermarket regularly, you can feel whether supply got disruption or not.

If JB-SG border is going to close again, disruption will be further affected.

How COVID-19 has disrupted the close links between Singapore and Johor

One school was closed due to covid in JB, roughly one week ago.

The six new cluster in Malaysia as follows:
Sabah, Negri Sembilan, Selangor, Sarawak and Johor

I started stocking long before the news breaks, about one week ago.

At the beginning you can feel the shortage a bit.. but I not sure if that is the real shortage or just people getting greedy and overstocking it up.... anyway our govt did resolve it pretty quick...

The 4 ply can last for years after expiry, there is nothing that i see that would disintegrate or degrade.

The filter materials won't really degrade, already tested by UK govt/NHS.
Their N95s were even like nearly 10 years old. :s22:

Still passed the filtration test. I posted the results in this thread and the Super el nino/haze thread.

If you feel there is a slight leakage at the nose, just get them nosebridge foam from aliexpress. Now, these won't last for > 5 years most probably. :s13: Sometimes not even 3 years. But that's ok.

Also, having a 3rd party tester on youtube doing his own tests over a few KF94 models also give more assurance that such stuff are legit. Coz these are not 3M or some big brands from other countries that are NIOSH or FFP certified.

And yeah, my BLS Zero masks (I still have 8 of them left) actually have a 10 year expiry date. (not the usual 3 or 5 years). The filters can tahan one.

Yes, stress and mental distress can cause all kinds of mysterious illnesses and diseases, not to mention hormonal imbalances.

I think KF94 typically lasts for 2 years from manufacture. There is an expiry date on the packaging.

Haven't seen expiry date for KN95, though.

Read that it is the N95 that can last a long, long time, even after expiry date.

Force shield up!

My side is ready.

Good.

Let me also take the chance to say a few things to everyone.

FXHKdDM.jpg

Everybody, please do not be complacent and lower your guard just because community cases in Singapore are now very low. This damn COVID-19 really is pattern more than badminton. Every day - even as we speak - scientists, doctors and researchers all over the world are learning new things about COVID-19 and just what a bad boy the SARS-CoV-2 virus really is.

Continue to wash your hands often and avoid digging your nose or touching your eyes and mouth. Wear your masks and keep your safe distance. For those fighting at the front line, be laser-focused and fastidious, especially with regard to infection prevention and control (IPC) measures.
