Beware, digi after extend may not work as good as previously. Got bad experience once.

So far so good, have been using it for 2 years. Signal wise depend on location. Poor connection in Ipoh, good for Malacca and JB.

I have 2 MYR prepaid cards:
- Hotlink (Maxis) - 50 days to expire
- Digi Live - 90 days to expire

Both cards have different number of days of expiry. I tried to reload them 1 week before it expire, somehow hotlink card went dead and expired. My digi card is still working.

How about tunetalk? Anyone tried to top up after expired? Think Malaysia prepaid have long grace period even after expiry.

I buy new digi card in KL, good signal for KL, Ipoh and Penang. JB no problem if new card.

After SIM expired, it works like faulty sim. No mobile signal at all.

Mobile phone cannot detect the SIM, thus cannot reload. Anyway I just buy another pre-paid SIM. For me, if buy hotlink SIM, i got to reload more frequently than digi SIM.

till now onexox is cheap n good n reliable imo

hotlink = singtel best best coverage no drop signal but expensive

Singtel $5 for roaming, very good coverage, don't need to change sim card and no signal break when clearing custom.

AFAIK (As far as I know)...

Digi calls passive period using the term "grace period".

(1) Digi Prepaid Live: 90days grace period

(2) Digi Prepaid Best: 75days grace period

(3) Digi Prepaid SMART Plan: 60days grace period

(4) Digi Prepaid Broadband (Internet only, no voice): 30days grace period

If you don't know what type of Digi prepaid SIM card you have -- login to the Digi mobile app -- it should be stated there.

Based on own calendar record, I last extended Digi Prepaid LIVE validity for one day around 10 March so I set in my calendar 8 June as the last day of grace period.

I usually extend 1 day earlier but found out I have been extending 2 days earlier being the grace period only starts 24hrs after the 1 day extension (I've been counting from the day I extend instead) and also ends at the same cutoff time (not 00:00) 90 days later. So this time round I wanted to be sure so I try to get a firm date via Digi app live chat but was told the suspension will be on 10 July instead to which I did a double take and ask for double confirmation and still get the same answer.

Did Digi extend grace period? Else what could be the reason the given date is much later than my record?

I'm not looking to save 1 to 2 days but 10 July is like an additional month. Is there anywhere on Digi app can find out the last day of grace period instead of relying on what could be the wrong date given by the CSO?

I see on the app:

If you're very sure that you didn't reload in April, then I'd say don't wait until July. From what I've read, it's difficult if not impossible to get the line back if it's terminated.

Yes I'm very sure I didn't reload in April as my last reload is 3 Sep 2019 which email receipt confirmed. SMS records also showed my last validity extension was 9 March (1 day before expiry).

Just realised 90 days from "Balance RM7.87 | Expiry 11 Apr 2020" as stated in the app is exactly 10 July which is the same date advised by CSO as last day before the card get suspended.

Unexplained "Reload History 28 Mar RM0.01" to 11 Apr 2020 is exactly 14 days. Dunno if it's due to this. I only vaguely recall there was a promo for reloading when I reloaded on 3 Sep 2019. I think it was bonus credit or something. Maybe they short changed me RM0.01 and then reloaded this amount when they found out and that caused the Balance Expiry to be updated and grace period resetted.

Whatever the case, is Balance Expiry date as stated in the app the correct reference to count 90 days grace period from?

Anyone can advise, if I reload RM5, does it mean it will automatically keep my line active for the next 75 days

OR

do I have to select/buy any of the minimal plan (eg.RM1 plan) to keep it active?

Which prepaid card are you referring to? Digi (seeing that you mentioned 75 days)?

Anyway, in general, RM1 reload gives your line 1 day's validity, so a one-time reload of RM5 will make it active for 5 days.

So does it mean reloading RM5 without activating any plan is suffice to keep the line/number for 75 days?

To be more precise, your RM5 reload will ONLY make your line active for 5 days and then enter to 75 days of passive period where:


* The validity period for the Customer to receive incoming calls and SMS is 75 (seventy five) days upon the expiry of the Active state period, but no outgoing transactions will be allowed unless a reload is performed.

*If there are still no reload activities performed by the end of the 75 (seventy five) day validity period, the status of SIM card will be changed to Suspended (R2) whereby a Customer will not be allowed to receive incoming or outgoing calls or SMS except for automated SMS from Digi.


FYI, Best Prepaid is 75 days while Live Prepaid is 90 days of passive period.
