Can the Xiaomi Yeelight Smart Bulb v2 be setup in Mi Home app (SG Server) or must use Yeelight App instead ?
You can always pretend to add and look for the device in the list in MiHome app. If it’s there means got lo

Has anyone tried both Home Assistant and OpenHAB integration with Alexa?

What is the pros and cons of Home Assistant and OpenHAB?

I use HA and haaska which uses Smart Home Skill API. AWS Lambda is required and HA needs to be accessible from Internet. Free tier of AWS is sufficient.

Somehow Alexa under HA is much faster than Google Assistant on HA for me and it's easy to add new devices with "Alexa, discover devices" and response time to my voice is perceivably faster than GH. For GH, it's a lot more effort to add new devices as google_assistant.request_sync is not working for my setup and I need to unlink/link in the app for new devices to be found.

Turned out to be user error/ignorance. The equivalent GH voice command is "Hey Google, sync devices".

Well, usually I have to say "synchronize my devices", "sync" maybe translated to "sing". I am having problem recently with this command, the reply will be "there is a problem with hassio", yet to troubleshoot.

I am using Openhab integration to GH. HA or Openhab is a matter of preference. If you are going via this route, just be prepared to get your hands dirty and learn how to debug the system.

If you are an Android phone user, Google Home integration has an advantage because of the ease of activating Google Assistant.

hey guys....which setup out there can let me use voice control without....for example,

Fibaro -- ok google let me speak to Fibaro or ok google ask fibaro to turn on the tv

homey - alexa, tell homey to turn the lights

I not really sure whats the activation words like but i know its something like the above.

any setup out there can simply tell fibaro or homey to, "ok google, turn on the lights" instead of adding on additional "ask Fibaro/tell homey"?

Alexa for homey doesn't require "tell homey".. google home, pending the update.. honestly my 2 home mini is now used only as a rebro for Homey text to speech.

Anyone has recommendation for Zigbee or Z-Wave light switches? Is the Xiaomi Aqara stable? Looking to get a Hubitat.

Honestly, MCO, Aqara (with Neutral), TKB, are all good.. As long as vesternet carries it, it usually means there support from most of the european hubs which is compatible with SG

Ah ok. So far I read Aqara drivers for Hubitat is developed by a user for Hubitat, so I'm kinda worried it might not work well with Hubitat.
Same for MCO on Homey, but TedToonBloom is working with AutomateAsia on the Homey support for MCO switches.. so in some way there is local support. The samsung and Yale smartlocks app for Homey are also developed by Automate Asia.

Anyone ever tried out this brand called TKB? They are one of the few China companies that have Z-Wave Plus certification.
One of my neighbours is using it. It's toggle switch like the aqara, but slightly more responsive on zwave than Aqara on zigbee..

Wow, thanks a lot for all the feedback. I've managed to contact the manufacturer for TKB and he's offering a good price for a bulk purchase. Seems that TKB is recognized as a generic Z-Wave switch also on various platforms as well, so I'm shortlisting it.

Well, the thing is I want a clicky click click switch, which MCO isn't. Yes, I know I'm being picky but that's my preference. :s13: Homey looks very interesting, but I really want the thing to fully support Google home before I consider it. The whole idea of having to say "tell homey" is quite a turn off.

Do share what your "bulk purchase" deal will be like. I would be interested, especially if they have stock for EU freq Z wave switches

They mainly deal only with EU frequencies. You might want to check the site of they have the design you are looking for, but they require minimum 20 pieces order.

Don't really want to talk too much about it yet as I am still looking at other options.

Xiaomi Mijia Air Detector - Do you have one?

Anyone has a Xiaomi Mijia Air Detector ? If you do, can you share with me if you can download daily readings into your machine or the cloud?

Or do you know of any IoT devices (using wifi) that measures air quality and able extract information from the device?

Let me try:
Code:
SWITCH SHELLY 1 LIGHT
L-L1 O-I-SW-L-N L-N

SWITCH's L connected to L wire
SWITCH's L1 connected to SHELLY's L and I
LIGHT's L connected to SHELLY's O
SHELLY's N connected to N wire
LIGHT's N connected to SHELLY's N
SHELLY's SW unconnected

Thank you very much. Does this mean the physical switch can be switched off, and the relay will still function? (eg using electronic terminal to trigger the relay)
