Tires get progressively louder as they near the wear limit. Assuming no other mechanical problems, I would suggest changing them. Mid to low range tyres tend to get rather loud after 40% wear. So your tyres may look ok, but the weng weng sound is a possible indication.

I have already sealed a deal to sell to another buyer. Upon testing the car he did note that there is a humming sound, which i think it is due to the tires and he is ok with it and placed the deposit

I asked my neighbour to come check for me (he deals with car parts and scrape cars) and he said 90% is because of tires.

But i just want to check if there are any other possibilities of this humming sound

My last pair were from Toyo. Entry level tires. They only lasted 2 years. They were wearing quote even on all four as I rotated them after every servicing. I would always keep a close watch on the bumbs on the threads and changed when it was almost even with the tire.

I always pump 240 for my tires. Yesterday i reduced to 200 and the sound is less noisy

Tricky thing is i already reached an agreement to sell to another buyer and he placed deposit already. Doing the transfer next mth. He noted this sound when he test drive and i said maybe it is tires.

If it is bearings, better get it changed before giving to him. Not very comfortable selling smth faulty to another person..

Just went to H Tyre to check and mechanic test drove my car and said noise is due to tires and not wheel bearing.

Anyway that is new owner's issue already since he is already aware before purchase

Im using Pirelli tyres and recently when i drive above a certain speed lile 50kmph, can hear "weng weng" humming sound.

Does it mean time to change tires? Tire threads still ok. 9 yr old car and i got from agent 1.5 yrs ago.

They have second hand. Can call them to check price first. But do note that they have day and night price. Night time more ex. And also make sure you quote the price that the boss give you. Their mechanic sure give you higher price. If you are not happy, just go over to Kim hoe. Nearby also. Haha..
