Anyone heard back from NUS/SMU Law (especially poly students)? Really want to know if I'm shortlisted or not. Have been waiting since forever lol.

Hi I just received my A level results this year

So I have got ABD/ABB which adds up to 77.5 rp, just wondering if acceptance is based on rank points first or IGP because if its by IGP I don't have much chance to enter most courses. Right now I'm looking at NUS FASS and NTU Public Policy and Global Affairs but still have yet to receive replies from both unis.

I also tried discretionary application for NTU but my tutor have yet to finish the appraisal so perhaps that delays the process. Also just a query, if I applied through discretionary (DA) just in case, but my results alone can get me into the course without DA, will they still contact me for DA interview and submission of docs? Thanks

Oh well, for both NTU and NUS courses I do have real interest in it and have been researching on both area since poly days. Have been sticking to maritime studies till the declining of the industry. As for SMU, due to its vast specilization choices, I applied for it. But ultimately, it's between NTU or NUS.

Which courses did you apply?
I'd say how you rank your choices would affect how fast you receive the acceptance

Anyway, it's still pretty early now. If I'm not wrong, the deadline for uni application isn't over yet right?

No news is good news. So long as you haven't receive any rejection letters, it's all good!

Hi there, perhaps the flexibility of the prospect for the NTU and NUS courses. For SMU I guess the flexibility is vast. As for curriculum, though it is available on both official webpage, which is more intense?

From what I was told at open house, they look at rp first. Your rp is above the nus fass and ntu ppga. So should be safe to receive at least one offer, if not both.

I think it will be a group interview. Heard from my friends that they were given a news article to read and they will need to discuss during the interview.

I got 70.8rp and i got into ntu hss. However only in my second year of application bcs i am a dude. U should apply courses nearest to your rp like history, sociology and etc to boost your chances into getting in a local uni. SIT n SMU as backup. You might have to take a gap year if it doesn't work out.

Still in time today to go to the system to change your choice of courses to something below or nearer your rp to boost your chance of an offer. But don't do so if you totally not keen on these courses.
