No charging facilities here. Unless you stay in landed property, don't bother.

If the rumoured $150,000 price tag is true, I think this car will sell quite well here if a electric-car charging network is erected by then. Maybe every car should come with a free Tesla charger so that those living in condos or in private properties can make full use of their Telsas.

I stand corrected :o
Even so, owners would prefer to charge at the convenience of their own home rather than spent 20 mins at these charging station. Unless it's free, then I ain't complaining :D

It's true. Everyone would prefer to charge at their own homes, but if that is out of the question (due to bureaucratic red tape, or town council/building management intervention, etc), it's not the end of the world.

Firstly, we don't know for sure if Superchargers will be built here or not. If yes, then problem solved. Quick charging and its free. And a full charge of 215miles will last you for about a week.

If SC are not built here, then we have two paid options, either choose Greenlots, which is a pay-as-you-use service (and some charging stations at certain locations are zero dollars, aka, free to charge. You need to download their app to see where those are). And the cost is quite reasonable, about 2.00 to 3.00 sing per hour.

Another is Bosch eMobility, which is a pre-paid service for S$180 per month, and you can charge all you want buffet. Still cheaper than petrol though...

I've been thinking about the mileage one full charge can go, and about Bosch charging station's availability. Honestly speaking, it might be doable after all.

A full charge should last one week's worth of driving (unless you're into sales, then bless you), and most of the facilities are public accessible. Even at $180 per month for membership, it is cheaper than petrol for most regular user. Heck, I'm spending $250 per month for mine.

But one thing stands out is servicing. There is no local agent, and I don't think there is any workshop here that can handle something of this level in complexity. In the event of **** hits fan, you are on your own, and that really sucks. It's not a typical gasoline car where you can just drive into a car workshop and the old uncle can fix it for you (after sharpening his chopper) with a change of spare parts gotten off the local stockist.

And then there is the financing part. How do we go about getting loans for this? There was a thread where a fellow bro imported his own ride, but that's because he have hard cash on hand. What about regular joes like us who doesn't have a wad of cash hiding under our mattress?

Unless all these mechanics can be ironed out, it sounds like it's still a rich man's toy that's out of reach for the Tom/Dick/Harry out there.

Yes. It is already reported in sgcarmart news. It's includes all the arf , etc fees but there is no markups since it's not sold through AD. tesla sells their cars direct from the website. Tesla may need to setup a store and a warehouse here for customers to collect their cars
