Oh I thought the step-up program only for USA, Canada, and EU countries?

Just use your forwarder address/US address lor. Had a friend did that for his 970 to 980Ti. Yes limited to USA/EU.
But have to top up delta for price and shipment.

Does anyone knows if Zotac is still 5 years warranty?

I can confirm 5 years warranty on my 1080 FE (you need to register the product on the zotac website to get the 3rd-5th year warranty)

Anybody do SLI with two 2.5 slot cards before? That is on the 1st and 3rd PCI-E slot on the mobo? Possible? And the 2 GPUs are non-ref designs i.e they expell hot air into the case rather than outside it. I have bad experiences with blower type GPUs in the past and prefer GPUs with top-mounted fans.

The Zotac Amp Extreme looks good but takes up 2.5 slots. Rather pessimistic on prices though, even from the non-big players like Asus/MSI/Gigabyte, the prices seemed more appropriate to those dual-GPU cards back in the 2000s. May have to settle for 2 plain vanilla non-OCed GPUs instead. Need 2 to drive a 3440x1440 Ultrawide monitor :(

well heard from others that EVGA is free if u have email to them.:o

Ok it works like this.

When i first got my 980Ti, some of the copper fins were broken. So i took pictures and also video(put to youtube). Then email to them tell them the issue. FYI, i bought from NewEgg, but support is from Evga direct.
You use EVGA email system to talk to them. They usually get back within the day. If weekend then too bad.

EVGA Support Email Received

Dear xxx, thank you for contacting the EVGA Customer Service Team.
Please do not reply to this email.
This is an automated response to confirm the receipt of the email sent to our support team for SN# 1512534995001106. Please allow 1-2 business days for EVGA to review your email. In the meantime, please review the below frequently asked questions (FAQ) to see if this may help with your questions or concerns.
Please visit our EVGA FAQ for any general troubleshooting questions.
If you are a system builder or a reseller in need of an RMA, please visit our Dealer RMA pages.
Frequently Asked Questions

Once you email to them they will give you an RMA number. After that got a bit of ding dong because for my case they proposed to only send the heat sink instead replace the entire card. i was ok. So i took it apart and shipped the heat sink back. Although shipping is paid, of course things like preparing box and bubble wrap is your responsibility. If they receive in damaged condition it's not their problem.

Dear Tony. yes i am able to remove the fansink by unscrewing the 4 spring screwws.. i just need to unplug the 2 connectors attaching the board to the sink right, as in the picture? If so yes i am able to do it.
I have also take new pictures after i took out the broken fins (since i'm opening up the card).. you can see more clearly now.

May i know when you will ship out the new fansink ? i will update my address in the account;

xxxxxxxx

Your Answer:

Dear Customer

We will sent out the fansink tomorrow, and don't worry about RMA# that will send to you through E-mail. Because we will RMA# for shipping reference.

Thank you

End to end my 1st RMA took about 4-5 days in total.

Just because of one game you say its overhyped :s22:

Texture compression disabled that's why the last gen Titan shine..

It still offers good improvement over 980ti in most games. Better than 980 that is a mere 'replacement' of the 780Ti (equal performance, just barely cheaper)

How much did it cost for u to ship back to Tw?

Sent from Huawei NEXUS 6P using GAGT

Sorry i made a mistake.
There are 2 episodes to this.

1. Heat Sink fins broken. I did not send the heat sink back. EVGA sent me a new heatsink via TNT. The replacement heat sink had issues so went to episode 2 :D

2. This time i had to ship back the whole card + heat sink. TNT Arranged to collect from my house but i need to first tell them the measurement, weight etc. and prepare my own box etc. If TNT provide me the box i need to pay them. After TNT collected my card back to Taiwan, they shipped a new card to me.

In both episodes i didnt pay a single cent.

Wah so good. So will u recommend EVGA card?

Sent from Huawei NEXUS 6P using GAGT

Friend had an 780ti after 2.5 years. Used the economy mail to send to EVGA took a week to reach Taiwan. 2 days later return rma card to him. Turnaround and hassle free. Another Friend had a burnt card as product defect, forwarder personally come collect and return a few days later brand new card. Another time is missing thermal pads from my backplate. They send over a whole strip for good lol.

No sticker on screw, if you know to reapply thermal paste can go ahead without voiding warranty, even if have just carefully remove it. Jacob from EVGA already confirmed if there are no physical damage on card they will definitely Honour. So if u go wc you know who to get from lol.

If got good sources to get overseas then I would strongly recommend lol.

Edit: Zotac also not bad if you want longer warranty period. 2 years local, 3-5 they send to manufacturing for you.

have urge to upgrade my graphic card to Gtx 1080, however i just purchase a new monitor few months ago - dell u2717d.

Dell u2717d only run at 60fps, so gtx 1070 is a better choice ?

Playing games like call of duty and witcher 3.

well both is still good though since u are using dell u2717d 1440p monitor.

even though max refresh rate is 60mhz but still doesn't matter much for the fraps. as both still able to run above it, but witcher 3 im not really sure.

Run at 60 fps? No la its running on 60hz not 60 fps. Getting the 1080 will get you more fps, still making your game feel smoother and less laggy.

Monitor refresh rate 60hz is just the display showing 60 frames per second to your eye but doesnt mean the game will only run at 60fps. 60hz will look abit choppy but not laggy. If u know what i mean. The game is more playable with higher fps rendered from the gfx

Don't forget the new fast sync. It uses ur extra fps to run games without screen tearing and input lag
