I thought about this too, but there's apparently an option to waive the minimum balance for up to 2 years by doing salary credit or doing recurring transfer of S$2500/mth.

Worth considering! Though I decided in the end that my current 4m/$ options will suffice.

Source: http://milelion.com/2016/05/31/revisiting-hsbc-advance-card/ (not my site, just thought it was an intriguing and relevant read)

Yup, I considered the salary credit too, but salary can generate more value for boc 1%($50/mth) or ocbc 1.2%($60/mth) for 1st 60k, so I'd rather pay $10 fall below fee.
How do they define recurring 2.5k? Transfer in and out can count?

The points cap is the credit limit.

What fruit are you talking about? Can the pro kindly share what it is?

Not I am aware of, I would also like to know but who will give unconditional free 2% interest in this era? That sounds like a free lunch, too good to be true.
However, those accounts mentioned with conditions are quite easy to achieve, so the conditions do not really matter to me. Maybank also has similar account which I have not tried, it took me less than 5 min each mth to get those with >2%, so why should I put 30k into this account with near 0% interest? I'd rather pay the $10 fall below fee and put somewhere else with easy conditions.

the requirement is 30k trb not deposits in the current account. from time to time, hsbc runs step up bonus promo similar to scb's esaver.

still you wont get 2% but very close.

This card points expire in 2 years?

Rewards points are valid for three years from the year it is earned, expiring on the anniversary date of issuance of the credit card.
For example, if your anniversary date of issuance is on 1 April, here's an illustration of the validity of your Rewards points:

Rewards Points Earned in the Period of Expiry Date
1 April 2014 - 31 March 2015 31 March 2017
1 April 2015 – 31 March 2016 31 March 2018
And so on...

Thanks, bro. So it's between 2-3 years depends on spend near start or end of membership year.
