Just buy on what you think you can afford. Not saying that you have to buy MSI, or have to buy Palit and all. Just choose what you think you are comfortable with, and what you think is worth your pocket value.

For instance imho, i would go for major brands instead over pure "AIB" brand partners. Cause in my personal pov, major brand tends to innovate things/features that i felt useful to a certain extent.

Things like how major brand innovate things.

MSI

They implemented Zero Frozr technology way back in 2002. It was back then where MSI did a zero fan movement when gpu is below a certain temperature. And it was brought back to late 2014-15 with Twin Frozr V cooling technology. And other brands starts to innovate the cooler to work the same like Zero Frozr.

Asus

FanConnect is found in current gen worth of 10-series GTX cards. It is good in every ways to bring in more cooling performance to the GPU. Most of the time when gaming, chassis fan spins at its minimum especially when CPU is not loading. This is the cause of fans connected to mobo CPU fan header or System Fan header. Where it only works in conjunction of CPU temps instead of GPU temps. When gaming, GPU tends to be the hottest, and it is only good that FanConnect is good to conjunction the fans with GPU temps instead.

Gigabyte

They implemented Flex Display technology. This is good for people whom wanna connect multi display. Given the flexibility and ease of using any connections for surround display which.

The only pure "AIB" brand partners that i know that do implement new things is Sapphire with its Vapor Chamber design. There are also other brands out there that does unique, heatsink design and new tech also, but so far the most common ones are major brands that doing all this.

In all, i would pay more a bit to support their research and doings. Which i hope they can continue to improve further in the future.

Pro post! So knowledgeable should do a write up contrasting the different Brands Sia.

Anyone with Palit SJS GTX 1080 using the latest driver 368.89? My idle temp was 43c before the update..now its 55c. Rollback to the previous driver and its back to 43c :s13:. Those using other brand GTX 1080 might want to check this out too.

3DMark score increased by 1500+ after rolling back to previous driver. 3DMark graphic score increased by 2300+ too after the rollback. Pascal card performs better when its cool :D

palit 1080 SJS @ $1k.
MSI 1070 X @ $820.
Its like almost $200 to have that extra fps.
I'd rather spent that extra $ on something else ... just my 2cents :(

If your monitor not 4k, better save the 200 sgd

Ownself refill? Shldnt be that difficult.

Oh. It's a service they provide for people who use their AIO cooler. The kit comes with the same tubing and fittings on the AIO pre-installed on the block and also comes filled with the same coolant that they use in the rest of the cooler. Install the block and backplate onto the card, then plug and play.

My ultra book without dedicated gpu already can play most moba games. Only if you get 4k monitor than you will feel the need to get better gpu. I did not mention 144hz monitor cause many games have cpu bottleneck which is hard to hit that framerates.

hmm how to rollback? sorry not at home yet to try.

thats why i notice my gamerock premium max temp can go up to 75c (though normally when gaming is around 61c). normally max at 69 when i use gpu-z and set max temp reading recorded.

disagree.

i am using 1080p... i play overwatch on epic settings fully max out on a gtx1080...my fps fluctuate sometimes 110 to 150 fps. if i set ultra...my fps hit 200.

So if i were to game on epic settings, i would want my fps to be favourbly constantly 144fps and above since i have a 144hz 1080p monitor.

doubt a gtx 1070 can provide enough fps on epic settings.

so all in all it depends on your games you play, your monitor refresh rate. some ppl satisfied with 60fps which i cannot play on.. seems choppy to me.

i ditched my 960 gaming oc, RX480, GTX970 Amp extreme, 1070 G1 Gaming before settling on MSI Gaming X.

what a busy 3 weeks but the Gaming X was worth my effort and $$. although the $$ loss along the way could have gotten me a 1080 SJS :s13:

me too money lost moving from 1070 to 1080.
sold 1070 at a loss

You can tell difference??
btw I my epic mode for overwatch similar fps to yours
110-130 range. my limit is shorter cos I use 6600k compared to yr 6700K?
