I rather be jobless n have 300k den working like dog not knowing how long it will take for me to get 300k

Maybe my entire life cannot even hit 300k cash LOL

Sent from Tzuyu's panties using GAGT

Earning ,saving and investment is like a marathon.. My starting pay was only 2k and I started with a 20K debt when I started working. I have since saved more than 1 mil + house paid off.

yup is achievable to have 1 million in networth in our life time.

i always tell my peers, even if don't invest, don't do business, at least put your money into savings promotion or fd even if u earn high income, at least let your money work a bit harder.

currently my esaver interest is enough to pay for my insurance and income tax at least it helps in my monthly expenses leaving some of my salary untouch.

now younger generations are more financial savvy so it is possible to attain wealth much earlier :)

If cannot increase earning, then increase savings. Live very frugally, monitor expenses. Those with yolo mindset won't agree though.

Not sure how $300 can work. I record all my expense on excel for a good few years now. Expense is always increasing. Married with 2kids, difficult to save much.

I got one aunty
She dunno how to invest
Only put fixed deposit
Now age late 50s she has around half mil in cash and a fully paid hdb
She single

What worked then will not work now. High interest rate environment vs low interest rate env. The truth is you need to make your money work harder for you compared to years ago when putting money in banks will already generate good interest returns.

And it's a known fact that our salary did not rise proportionately to inflation.

either u must have a high salary to start with ie $10,000 per month or you must have a very big risk appetite for investment and speculation.

For those working, need to stay on the job and invest early. Took me the first 16 years of working, saving & investing to hit 1M net worth. Not easy in the early years, paying off uni loan, first house, kids, etc. Partially thanks to GFC & much higher earning power, it only took me the next 4 years to hit the 2M. Not to show off, but to share.

Your salary places a fixed upper limit on how much you can save, even if you spend $300 a month. Those on low(er) salaries are not going to get very far by pure savings.
