DBS will not go BK. It has 22b exposure to O&G sector but net assets of 45b, if we assume that all their clients are like Swiber and they can only get back 50% upon liquidation, that will only cut their book value by 11b to 34b.

This will hardly bankrupt them, FWIW the stock is already trading at a discount to book value so the market is already aware of this risk.
Nice to know, so dbs 12.50bucks tp is more realistic.

Why didn't scoop it much earlier? Even Brexit Friday was cheaper for OCBC ( not sure of others ).

it's about time in the market, not timing the market... if dip, then keep buying lor, unless run out of warchest then bo bian.

to be honest, i will be interested to know how much is the NAV of DBS if let say, 70% of the O&G loans are written off.

uob still not attractive to me. TP around 17.5 or low, if not just past.

beginning of the year and it recent few times pullback also can scooped at low, why now? unless you are doing FIFO and then anytime can have a technical rebound.

can consider using DCA methods like

BCIP by ocbc or MIP by maybank

else dont nibble.. if think valuations cheap just 1 shot buy and hold long term lor, now at under 1 times book value... I think ok for long term ba

i am being a lazy ******* here, but when DBS was at its $20.xx days, how much was its PB? :o

You are making a very bold assumption, the book values stays constant throughout and unaffected by external environment.:D

DBS book value was $12 in 2011, $13 in 2012, $13.6 in 2013, $14.9 in 2014, $15.8 in 2015 and $16.7 now. About 7% growth in the past 5-6 years. ROE has been steady at 11% and ROA at 1%. Based on that, I would say fair value would be at book value.
