Hi guys! Would like to check what brand should I get to feed the stray cats? I tried Science Diet and Friskies but they don't really fancy. :/ Thanks in advance! :)

Hi GladysT. How about FussieCat for wet food?
Most cats seems to like it.

Hi all... my cat is a finicky cat, currently on wellness dry food (deboned salmon & turkey).

Vet has suggested that i change to the premium wet food because wet is better than dry, and suggested atas ones such as addiction, etc. thing is i have 2 cats so the transition would be pretty pricey going by his recommendations.

any mid range wet food that is not so pricey? or is it not necessary to switch a diet?

thank you...

Did your vet say exactly what reason. If it's because your cats are not drinking enough, you can compensate by making sure more water goes into their dry food. You also don't have to switch to wet completely, can do half maybe.

There's no real mid range wet food. Either the lowest grade ones like fussie or aristo, then the branded ones.

health wise nope no issue, just very fussy... just that they are hooked on fussie (used to). previously i'd give dry in the morning then wet in the evening until i noticed my cat stop eating dry food cos hed actually rather starve himself than to eat it. and my cat wont stop there...he will harass me for more at times, jump up my desk, block my screen, sit on my keyboard etc. he only stopped doing that when i decided to go cold turkey and stop the fussie wet food completely.

ive stopped cos vet said those are sorta like "junk food" which is why it is so tasty and cats like it. so that's what he mentioned.

Try mix your wet & dry food together in suitable proportions?

Top quality dry food is ok, generally supermarket brands are the poor quality ones. Friskies for example, contains coloring which is completely unnecessary for the cat, it's just feeding them needless extra chemicals.

Wet food are slightly more pricey but not too expensive. Addiction canned 180grm is less than $3. For red meat, I'm giving them addiction, fish or chicken I use Aixia. Limited Dry food when I'm at work

Wet Food & Dry Food

Hi there...
Horlick (my 7 yr old local breed) has been on Iams dry food (chix and salmon flavor) and Fussie Cat wet food. Iams was introduced by an ex-colleague and Fussie Cat was a choice I made on my own years back.
As years passed, I've grown 'smarter' in my choices and have tried ZiwiPeak and Addiction for wet food but he seems not to like both. I tried the mixing method. 1/4 can new wet food and 3/4 can old wet food. Nothing works. I've given up and is now back to Fussie Cat. I understand this brand is Grain-Free which supposedly is good for cats?
As for dry food, I've a big portion of Iams left. I've tried mixing it with ZiwiPeak Beef dry food. He seems to take it well though I think he secretly preferred Iams since it has a crunch. ZiwiPeak is probably more chewy than crunchy? Any idea if Orijen is good? I've read mixed reviews on this brand. I also bought a few ProNature (grain-free versions). Are these good? Any idea where to get Orijen or any other good brand?

Much thanks!

Orijen is available for better prices in online petshops compared to PLC.
If you are able to travel to JB, orijen is half the price there compared to SG prices and you can get a large pack for less than 90sgd.
Else do go try other grain free brands. Solidgold is very affordable. Else if you like premium dry food, can look at Wysong.

For wet food do check out polypet for their wide range of it and see what your cat favours. Let your cat try out different good brands.

My cats dislike wellness and ziwipeak. They used to like Zealandia but rejected the brand completely now. They're on Addiction and Aixia.
I give them raw beef too, mix with wet food.
Orijen dry food when I'm at work during daytime.

Get my monthly supply from Petfolio and Nekojam. Found a pet shop near my house (Toa Payoh Lor 4) selling at very low price especially Aixia and addiction. They only accept cash and net

I boil chicken, pork and beef and feed it to my cat sometimes, and he loves it.

Where's the TPY Lor 4 location?

Hey guys, may I ask how often do you change the brand of the cat food you're feeding your cats? Or if you don't change at all?

I'm currently feeding my cats with Pronature Holistic for about 1 year already and I'm thinking of switching them to another brand as most online pet stores in Singapore (except for PLC) doesn't seem to carry this brand.

ya better to mix, don't just stick to 1 type/brand. each brand lacks certain type of nutrients so its always good to mix/rotate for balanced diet as well.

usually I alternate between aixia, fussie and monge for wet. supplement with dry like orijen, wellness, fussiecat grain free, firstmate and etc.

also FYI most dry food tend to have more supplements/vitamins added than canned food, so it is always good to give not just wet or dry only, best to give both types.

Hello,

I'm looking to get affordable grain-free wet food for my 2 cats. Would like some opinions whether kitcat country fresh wet food is good?

Also considering fussie cat super premium wet food and also occasional addiction wet food. Any other recommendations for affordable grain-free wet food? Also, is there any pet shop selling addiction canned food for under $3 a can?

Thank you!

kitcat is okay I guess.

there are many good grain free cat food, perhaps you want to go to petshops websites such as polypet.com.sg and do a comparison yourself?

I wouldn't recommend for your cat's diet to be 100% wet food, most wet food lack supplements/minerals and vitamins, do provide quality dry food for your kitty as well.

I think it's better to rotate or mix & match among a few different brands so they will not become fussy eaters. Easier to change their diet in future for possibly medical or other reasons.

I tried to change their food but they don't seemed to like the flavor. They weren't looking forward to their meal like they did with the previous brand.

Guess I have to keep trying. Thanks for your advice!

Can anyone recommend a place to work at dealing with animals/ pet supplies preferably in the west? I've applied to Pet Lovers' Centre and they don't seem to be hiring. Don't want to try Pets' Station so I don't know where that leaves me

Thought i'll share a recent petshop that i bumped into while browsing through carousell.

Shop Name: Pet Inc (It also grooms dogs btw)
Address: Lor 4 Toa Payoh, Block 85C

Bought cat food both wet and dry and some other grooming and treats as well, owner is a very nice guy. Most are relatively cheaper than online petshop or petshop itself. They also do delivery if you hit their minimum spend of $100. They are having sales end of year sales now, not sure till when. Can see their listing in carousell under their username: petinc
