Can choose seats is good. Online right? Actually i usually fly SQ but prices very high during Nov hence looking at JAL and ANA but i find ANA only has day flights to Tokyo? I like flights departing late at night so when I arrive, I have the whole day ahead of me. Currently leaning towards JAL so want to hear some reviews like leg room, seat comfort, service crew, etc. So far so good from you and sausage. I think i will try JAL this time.

Yup buy direct from JAL website you can choose the seats. I never try other websites before so can't advise you on that. SQ usually have offer quite competitive but got to buy like half a year before I think? Now want to buy November, if can get good price for JAL or ANA, better just get. I also like JAL because they have good red eye flight timings to Tokyo.

Leg room depend on individual I guess. I'm around 165 cm, leg room was not an issue for me. Seat I don't quite remember already. Service is great in my opinion. Got once I accidentally pressed the "call" button while trying to adjust my TV volume, the stewardess came to me all smiles and wasn't angry or frustrated when I apologised and said I pressed the button wrongly. She even helped me with the volume.

I remember the food was arranged and presented very well. The pudding they serve is heavenly. The rest don't stand out but it's definitely not bad.

I will say my most fav part about JAL flights how quiet and peaceful everyone generally is though. :s13:

I flew a tiong flight once...swore never to do it again

They buy freaking a lot of stuff at the airport, ignore boarding instructions chiong up the plane then when u finally get to your seat you have no space in your own overhead compartment left cos its filled with rice cookers and tokyo bananas

Last time I flew tiong still got this archaic China aviation rule on not using phones on board even in flight mode :s22:

my average price for JAL is $600-700 to handa. You all can get SQ cheaper?

My SQ flight from SIN->NRT, then KIX->SIN is about $750 per head after taxes/fuel surcharge. ANA doesn't have this route available, and JAL requires one stop transit at the KIX->SIN leg. Hence it's SQ for me.

Last year I got $750 per pax for JAL SG<->HND in Dec 2015. This year, we got ANA but SG<->Narita @$550 per head also for Dec.

After I booked, my sister cannot get $550 but could only get $680 per head.

JAL is quite good and the prices can be better than ANA at times.

If you need domestic connections to other cities, I personally felt JAL has better connections in terms of timings and frequencies than ANA when I was looking for airfares. JAL doesn't seem flexible to bump one into an earlier domestic flight even if there is availability though.

Agree! I have booked JAL to Japan during x'mas week and there is a domestic connection to other city from Haneda. SQ is always expensive and it is usually my last choice.
