Anyone encounter the S7 restarting and reset some of your settings like the ring tone, notification and display settings?

Overall Nougat brings a lot more to the table than Marshmallow... battery life will be better, it's more compact, updates are faster, and it runs faster still...

Updates are faster, we have to see how fast Samsung can put them out. :s13: Runs faster? I'm quite sure it is placebo effects here. Maybe small millisecond differences plus and minus. The device is already very fast and snappy even on Android 6. Unless the file system changes to a faster reading and writing one, the difference should be negligible.

anyone having issue with 5Ghz WiFi? it's the only device on my network that can't stay connected

Sent from Huawei NEXUS 6P using GAGT

Settings > Backup and reset > Network settings reset > Reset settings. This will reset all of your connections, including Wi-Fi, cellular and Bluetooth, so be aware of that before pulling the trigger. The same steps generally help with Bluetooth connectivity problems too.

I think you haven't read... instead of downloading the entire apk to update apps, only the bits that needs updating will take place... firmware updates won't be have the phone shut down for 30 min or so for everything to be updated... that's pretty significant... especially when you get security updates...

Anybody hv this issue wif their s7/s7e ?

When taking a long video under 1080/30fps on the stock cam, intermittenly after u paused and/or resume later when playback the video will be jerky or stuttered.. I've already updated to the latest fw and even hard reset it.. but prob still persist... anyone got encounter same thing before ?

I doubt camera faulty as I notice only after I pause and resume (intemittently) then got such problem, not at the beginning of every video.. The thing is, when I was taking the video all is fine on the screen.. so I cant tell when the video will start to jerk or stutter when I pause and resume multiple times..

yeah, I know I can just video w/o pausing and resume but sumtimes u just need to pause recording for a short while and then cont wif your long video taking... eg. family picnic outing, swimming etc..

is this some kind of bug ? Those bros testing the Nougat, can look into this too ?

I tested out in 1080/30fps and even 4k video, there isn't a problem like what you described..

Perhaps your memory card not fast enough?

Sorry I just edited. There ISN'T an issue with me. I tried to record 15s just for testing sake, many pauses in between and is recorded to SD card directly. No hiccup at all except for the random pause due to the cut in video recording..

Alamak... first u acknowledged the prob.. now u say no issue... =:p

15s not sufficient bro.. u must take at least 3-5 mins first.. after that, at an interval of 5-10 mins u keep pause/resume multiple times.. at 1080/30fps...

Delta app updates have been a thing of Android since the release of the 3.8.15 Play Store.

The seamless firmware updates on the other hand have a very very high chance of not coming to devices which are older than the google pixel devices cause of the partition used by the system in not in the format that allows such feature. Why? Cause there isn't much space for it.. it requires 2 system partition one active and the other dormant. Updates will run on the dormant once and once updates are done it will switch the active OS over to the updated one upon reboot. Secondly it highly not happen to non stock Android device cause it requires a lot of repartitioning to make room for your "new" OS which may result in data loss or running out of memory cause you are dual booting within your phone. Which is risky and a step OEMs are unlikely to take.

TLDR: seamless updates are unlikely to make it to non Stock Android device cause it is not ready for it and it is risky
