New sign Fibre plan. Do we need to head down to it fair actually? Interested in the 500mbps plans. Any difference if I do it at M1 shop then it fair? Things like lucky draw / waiver charges or extra freebies?

Maybe someone who went down can give us some inputs.

Currently using asus RT-N56U for 300mbps, will this router suffice for 500mbps? The brochure only says "wireless asus ac router is available for top up at $5/mth". Doesnt say much about the this router details...although i am no expert at dissecting routers :s13: Hope to hear any views as I dont want to add unnecc. costs.

I believe this is the one M1 is giving for $5 topup/mth or free if you sign up for 1GB plan.

I using same as you, still working fine. Using 100Mbps plan now. Going to recontact to 500Mbps.

I think no need change. RT-N15U Can use up to 300Mbps. I think 300Mbps should already very fast.

"ASUS RT-N15U brings you the best experience of home and SOHO networking with fast 300Mbps data rate and stable Gigabit connection." https://www.asus.com/Networking/RTN15U/

ASUS RT-N56U also up to 300 Mbps

I think minimum is need Asus AC1200 to support 500Mbps.

Anyone already using 500Mbps with router that support that speed, can do a speedtest what is your actual speed?

If there is no difference in the offer at the M1 Shops and at Suntec, then there is no need to go to Suntec to squeeze.

Yes the RT-AC1200G+

the $150 off handset is only if you sign a SIM line at the same time?

Not for M1 mySIM plans. Must be the Lite+ plan (2 year handset contract) or higher, and $100 off handset is for all handsets, while $150 is only applicable for Sony Xperia XZ.

I think minimum is need Asus AC1200 to support 500Mbps.

ASUS RT-N15U theoretically can support 300Mbps, but real world, I only get 150Mbps max with it is just 2X2 MIMO (e.g. laptops) devices connected.

If there is mobile devices, the peak speed is only 70Mbps over WiFi.

so I need to pay additional

ONT Installation Charge7 $58.85 (Charged through bill)

$48.15 confirm need to pay, I don't know about the ONT installation charges. ONT activation charge is waived though.

Sometimes the product advertises as 300Mbps, but you actually have to test yourself. You don't always get up to 300Mbps, just like mine. Currently less than 100Mbps, tried on both wireless and wired.

[Wired using Sineoji 1800Mbps]
PING 6 ms, DOWNLOAD 21.63 Mbps, UPLOAD 95.00 Mbps

one more question. can reuse my viewqwest router when i change over to M1?

What router is that? ASUS routers?

Typically M1/MR/VQ/SH routers for Fibre are third-party, so technically can use. However, VQ sometime uses ONR, and therefore cannot confirm.

If there is no difference in the offer at the M1 Shops and at Suntec, then there is no need to go to Suntec to squeeze.

Other than the Switch bundle, all M1 Fibre plans are available in the M1 Shops.

they ask you to choose dates for ONT activation.

Some dates even more expensive like $100+

M1's T&C for M1 Fibre Broadband:
Waiver of ONT Activation fees up to $58.85 is only applicable for installation on weekdays (9am to 5pm).

Of course it is more expensive if the installation is not during work hours. :s13:
