@ the 5 year candidate for A levels

i would rather u have some contingency plans to look else where

applying to the local polys pharmacy program can help u to reach your goals

with your bio expertise i am sure u might be able to score well.

if not u could just apply to overseas uni instead

2cent

I could get in to overseas uni pharmacy but I do not have the money to defray the expenses. And my parents would not let me study at a polytechnic. I did apply and got accepted with a scholarship.

Nope I am still waiting for nus outcome. You don feel like a student if you don know that nus outcome isn't out yet.

You really made it sound like it was all over for you, so I thought you were already rejected. XD (Sorry, not A level student.)

I really hope you get in then. :)

Thanks for the well wishes. But as I was already rejected 3 times in the past, naturally I would take precaution and apply for my A level before hand as the registration closes in march while nus outcome comes out in may. Hope you understand where I am coming from :)

I think your DA is very good, thats why they called you up. My gpa 3.8, they call me for interview for second option. Sad sad.

Actually, I didn't fill up the DA section for both NUS' and NTU's application form. I read somewhere in the NUS' admissions FAQ and infer that I was being called up for interview because my GPA almost make it.

Has any JC applicant received any news from NTU and NUS for Aerospace Engineering and Mech(Aeronautical) Engineering respectively yet? Will applying for scholarship and/or scholars programme slow down the processing time?
I am from JC and honestly fairly worried since my applications status are still application received. I would appreciate any comment on the matter.

Generally, more popular courses will take longer time to process due to high applicant volume. Approx the later half of April they will start processing based on my past personal experiences

Just a thought, if you're set on studying pharmacy, there are good universities overseas which offers them and, at the same time, only considers your performance in three relevant subjects (so you would not have the problem with contrasting subject as it is not compulsory). Most of them also comes with some sort of financial aid and if the fees - tuition and accommodation after reduction - are still unaffordable, you can approach Singapore companies directly for scholarship - this is, of course, assuming that after doing self-study for a few years, you would have had a fair amount time for internships experience in those companies and/or you are willing to work for them after graduation, in case you couldnt get in again this year, since Singapore local univ tuition fee is actually considered unaffordable even after tuition grant for me, so if you can afford them , I doubt overseas uni would actually be much of an issue after all the deduction.

JC applicant here! Got my offer for NTU Aerospace Engineering already and just accepted it earlier today. I submitted my application on 25 Feb so that could be the reason why haha.

Then why in the world my gpa didnt make it for the first choice. Lol. Going to appeal though, maybe i can make the cut. Hope you did well for your interview, i flopped my interview for my second choice.

I went for SMU SIS interview yesterday. You need to do the activity and then you will be taken to another room for the interview. (2 profs + me) There was no estimation question this time round. I think I screwed up the activity portion

However, the interview was very easy and chill. They interview one person at a time so I don't have to compete for air time.

Now I just have to wait and see whether they accept/reject me although I think it's going to be the latter. The closing date 1st acceptance window is in late May. :s22:

have you receive anything yet?
i'm kinda worry bout my interview that's bout to happen (tmr) : - (

All confirmed admission results (from this year's admission exercise, whether offered or rejected) posted on this thread will be used to compile the Appeal Chance Rater. If you have been offered, please assist your peers who are waiting for their offer.

To post your offers/ rejections in this thread, please include:
- A Level total rank point OR Poly CGPA (state 5/6sem) with O Level raw L1R4
- List ALL your choices for each university application
- Offered course/ Rejected status, and whether the offer is made under DA or borderline interview (if any) (must be confirmed offer)
- Singaporean/ PR/ Foreign Student (foreigners studying local schools are still counted as international student)

Thank you for your help.

Hi all, just some background before the update.

Applied to NUS FASS (1st choice), Nursing (2nd choice)

Received admission interview to nursing on 29 Mar.

Politely declined as FASS is what I want.

Emailed office of admissions but their reply was to appeal during May.

I applied to NTU sociology, psychology, philosophy
NUS FASS and nursing

My CGPA is 3.64... so far I was only shortlisted for nursing interview which I declined because I am only interested in social sciences

Previously you were from what course? Im applying NUS RE with a borderline gpa, hope there is a DA interview..

I was from early childhood. I'm hoping for a DA interview too but will not pin too much hopes on it :(

GOODLUCK to you! Update us on your outcome :)

All PRs and international students will need much higher admission scores than the ones stated in the IGP in order to be admitted to local universities. Do note that the 18% international students in local universities rule still applies.

Whoa PR oso considered international student @_@
If liddat I think I no chance liao 囧
