A number of my friends in FASS, usually have one day off for each week, some have two days off. So, many of the FASS people I know, don't really stay in campus since they are seldom in school.(FASS has more out-of-class revision and less class time)

Yep, the internal shuttle buses are usually crowded. The only exception is taking the transit bus, but you got to pay the bus fare. The bad thing about staying in campus is that, you are expected to save on transportation and food as much as possible. So, those staying in campus, try to spend as much time in campus as possible, if not they end up wasting $$.

Wow, many thanks for the information. Much appreciated.

Hi All, may I know what makes you apply for RC or prefer
RC to Hall?

I get to clear my compulsory modules with the RC. Also the facilities are much newer and the food is alot better. For both breakfast and lunch you have 5 options to choose from. Also, you get to have fun at the same time with inter college games and the variety of college activities run by students.

I think you're right. My last appointment was way back in 2013. I have been depression free. Think better not. Thanks. I've tried to book but it said I'm not allowed to register for this event :s13:

Buddy you gotta select the student yet to enter option then insert your application number and password. The one you used to check your nus portal for your application status.

Oh trust me, it's not working and I've used the same login to log in every other portal :s13:

RC4 processing time is probably the longest amongst the Utown RCs this yr.

My application is still processing.

I guess skylar, seokjinne and I are all in the same boat waiting for RC4.

I think I willn't mind waiting till late May(2 weeks from now) before sending an email to Utown and asking what on earth is taking the processing so long, since I am thinking of PGP as an alternative to RC4 and I hope to at least get an interview response before late May,ahem.

I haven't got an offer from NUS despite going to the DA for FoS interview late April, but I haven't heard of anyone in the same situation whom has gotten a reply yet so I'm not really worried. But the main reason why I really wanna go NUS is because of the RCs. But if RC4 is not gonna reply before 25th... :/:/:/ I'm not sure if I should email them if I'm really caught in that situation ><

Hi I am a prospective FoS student. :) If I am not wrong for FoS,the DA interview is mainly to show face. The only way to do badly for it is if you expressed interest a preference in a major that you do not have a strong grade in. My friend, for instance got B for bio and got accepted when he expressed interest in NUS life science during the interviews. As for my other friend, she got D for chem but B for maths and she expressed interest in NUS chem. She was steamrolled during the interviews and didn't get into NUS science eventually. There's science open house tmr, btw.

Anyways, uni offer doesn't affect your chances of getting into RC. Even I haven't gotten the RC interview and if I am not wrong,I read somewhere that some guy got RC offer before he/she even gotten uni offer.

The RC programme is indeed,one-of-a-kind in NUS. The academic programme within RC is a huge draw for me with it's seminar-based settings, deviating from the common lecture/tutorial format. I am probably going to email them 2 weeks from now,no rush for me yet till then, since I have to apply to PGP as back-up if RC4 doesn't get back to me on time.

Congrats on getting in! I hope so too, my interview actually went pretty well, the questions were easy, and the professors were really nice to chat with too so I had a good feeling about it. and yeah I got B for Chemistry and am intending to major in chem which is good for me i guess! xD

Oh, is it open for everyone? the science open house i mean. but seems a bit shameless to go for it even though I haven't gotten an offer xD

I read it somewhere too! I think a past RC thread, but seeing as I haven't heard of anyone getting an RC4 reply I'm also not too worried, but I really rather secure a place in the RC first before accepting an offer in NUS. I have my minds set on living on campus in Uni because I want to fully experience the uni life. My main concern is accepting an NUS offer but if I'm unable to enter an RC i will not be guaranteed a place to stay in NUS. I considered the Halls too but decided it was too much commitment and I prefer the RCs because I don't want my academics to be affected..

Wheras NTU guarantees 2 years hall stay... hais.

Really think I screwed up my essay too though. I wrote my essay specifically to RC4, which i know i shouldn't have done that because the other RCs probably won't consider me if RC4 rejects me, but I couldn't help it >< oh wells.

it is not shameless to go for science open day without a placement. Its good to go as they will talk about how their course is structured this will give you a rough idea of the workload. Ultimately, to help you make an informed choice!

hahaha if really want i will have friends to go de la haha but thanks :)

tbh i really only want to see the chemistry labs, esp since I already went for NTU's CBC Tea session and toured their labs, but idk if they will have a tour for that? The website doesn't really explicitly say..

Edit: LOL just found the lab tours dammit
