Why ThaiBev is expected to ditch its stakes in Frasers Centrepoint

It aims to focus more on its food and beverage business.

ThaiBev could divest its stakes in Frasers Centrepoint as it focusses more on its food and beverage business.

According to UOB KayHian, ThaiBev would ditch its Frasers Centrepoint shares whilst increasing stakes in Fraser and Neave.

Meanwhile, the brokerage firm also noted that the group's goal of having more sources of income outside Thailand remains on track.

One recent deal was the acquisition of a stake in Vietnam's largest dairy company Vinamilk through Fraser and Neave.

"FNN recently acquired another 1% in Vinamilk, raising its stake in Vinamilk to 18.7%. We expect FNN to further increase its stake in Vinamilk and this should add more contribution to THBEV in the long term but also expect higher financing cost," UOB KayHian said.
